Batman: Under The Red Hood Blu-Ray Review

Batman: Under The Red Hood has been a 'must see' Dc animated Movie that I have been waiting to see for a long time. The story is about the death and the resurrection of Batman's second Robin, Jason Todd. While Jason hasn't been seen in any other media (due to him not being a 'child like' character) this is perfect for his first appearance in media. This film was released OnDemand on July 24th, the Blu-Ray and DVD format was released on the 27th of July. The Blu-Ray is $19.99 or $23.95 (depending if you buy it in-store, or online), the standard edition DVD is $14.79 the Special edition DVD is $21.95. The Blu-Ray contains all special features in one disc, and is HD quality.

The movie opens it's beginning scenes with the end of, A Death In The Family. Which involves Robin (Jason Todd) getting brutally beaten (half way) to death by a crowbar thanks to Joker. This gives the film it's PG-13 rating, also including some other violent scenes. The movie did an incredible job at, transforming the comic into a 75 minute film. I have to say myself. I like Batman in media like Under the Red Hood, other than Batman Brave and The Bold. Sure watching Tv Shows like that are fun, however movies like this grabs the core essences of the characters.

Bruce Timm, Andrea Romano, etc etc did a terrific job boiling down the core essence of Under The Red Hood. Judd Winick's story "under the hood" was created by him in 2005, and lasted for an entire year. The story issues was Batman #635-641, 645-650, and also Batman Annual 25. While the movie is enjoyable, violent and tragic, there was some scenes that tended to linger awhile. However, the movie is awesome!

Bruce Greenwood (Batman), John Dimaggio (Joker), Neil Patrick Harris (Nightwing), Jensen Ackles (Red Hood, Older Jason), and a whole bunch of other actors did a terrific job being the characters of this movie. Hopefully in the future, these actors will return to be the same characters.

Dc Showcase Presents: Jonah Hex. The most feared bounty hunter of the old days. Just like Dc Animated Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths' Dc Showcase Spectre, comes Jonah Hex's showcase. This short film runs under twelve minuets, and is incredibly better than Jonah Hex the live action movie. Thomas Jane , Linda Hamilton, Michelle Trachtenberg and Michael Rooker, star in Jonah Hex's Showcase.

Behind the scenes feature "Robin: The Story Of Dick Grayson", which runs 24 minutes. Another, is called "Robin's Requiem: The Tale Of Jason Todd", which is about the outcry of fans wanting to kill Jason Todd. The last behind the scenes, or first look, is Superman/Batman: Apocalypse. This is about the creative minds behind the next Dc Animated movie.

More extras are added, including some of Bruce Timm's Batman animated series episodes. Two episodes are from Batman: The Animated Series, and another episode is from The New Adventures Of Batman. This includes " Robin's Reckoning, Parts 1 & 2," "Mad Love" and "The Laughing Fish."

When watching this movie you will get Batman like you've never seen him before! With Bruce Timm, Andrea Romano, Judd Winick and others, it makes this a favorite Dc Animated Movie ever. There is something for everyone, either it's the incredible cast, the jaw-dropping story, or the action A Batman fan (or whatever other fan you are), will want this movie. This is a 4.5 out of 5. Dc Animated continues to bring the most awesome and jaw-dropping stories, until the next movie.

This was one of thr best movies from DC yet. Gotham Knights was just to risky and when you start something as exciting as PG-13 animated Batman movies...you kinda want to do something that isn't so un related to the actual comics. This movie however, made up for that. It made sense. It was very well acted by all of the cast(Impressive voice from john as the joker(Bender from furturama). It had very dark and surreal emotions through out the movie and was very original in my opinion. Any Batman fa...

Ok, I just watched the movie and I want to get this out while it's still fresh in my head.   Just for the record, I watched the Blu-Ray version of the movie (is there any other way to watch movies these days?) First thing's first.  The movie starts off with the Joker beating Jason Todd to death with a crowbar.  Batman is racing to save him, but as Ra's so accurately predicts, "he won't make it in time." The first thing that threw me off was the voice of the Joker (John DiMaggio).  With everyone ...
