The Bells, The Pearls, and The Hole in Things 0

The Good: Oh my god does Lee Garbett's art look fantastic. It also just has some kind of quality that makes it extremely fitting for the final issue. Part of that might be that he did the art in Last Rites right after R.I.P. It explains everything. No really, it explains EVERYTHING. And in a great pace as well. The entire truth behind Darkseid's plan turns into an amazingly badass thing. I absolutely loved it. It gave me the same creeping epic shivers that Batman #702 did. Grant Morrison manages...

Return Of Bruce Wayne #6: The All-Over 0

The Timemasters   The final issue of Return of Bruce Wayne is finally here! Digging Deeper in Bruce's Past #6 0

Grant Morrison is acclaimed because he is one of the few writers who really push the medium to its potential. Part of the reason he can do this is because of his knowledge in the Occult.   There will always be three types of readers that walk away from a Grant Morrison story: (1) Those that had no idea what happened and did not like it, (2) Those that had no idea or little idea what really happened but enjoyed the story and (3) those who understand the messages between the lines.   With Gr...

Finally... 0

Once again let me preface his for you, I read this once when it first came out and then each time another issue came out I've re-read this issue to refresh myself.  So now I've got all 6 issues and I'm re-reading the whole lot and it's finally starting to make some sense.    Now's the time for me to review them.       I'm going to start off by saying half a star was taken off for the lateness of this issue. In the long term it may not mean much but as this came out about a month after the rest o...

THE END 0

As Morrison has followed Bruce Wayne on his hurdles through history, we’ve seen Batman in several  forms: Caveman  Batman, Puritan Batman, pirate Batman, cowboy Batman, 1930's detective Batman, and, now a cyber Batman. The final chapter of The Return of Bruce Wayne is where Morrison takes Batman’s superheroics and enhances them with his own interests about the power of ideas. Like any proper superhero comic, our hero fights a seemingly impossible foe.    To defeat him, Batman becomes an idea him...
