    Dark Night, Dark Rider

Grant Morrison continues his tale of Bruce Wayne's return through time, and this month its a stop in the cowboy days. And it does not disappoint. Morrison's writing is fantastic as ever and this month he's joined by another great artist, Georges Jeanty (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). He may not be the best artist that Morrison has worked with, but he's not the worst.  His art is a bit more cartoony than most, but that doesn't mean it doesn't look good, because it does look damn good. Story-wise this issue has a nice explanation of something that was brought up in Batman and Robin (that's all I can say without spoiling anything) and although it wasn't a question that I was dying to know the answer to, I'm glad it was included. It also shows some more history of the Wayne family and how Batman has effected it. This also continues on from the previous issues of ROBW, but if you haven't read #3 than you may be fine, as it has more to do with #1 and #2 than last month's book. Overall this is a great issue and a must buy, although if you haven't read the other ROBW issues or the other more recent Morrison stuff than you may be a bit lost.

Part of the reason he can do this is because of his knowledge in the Occult.   There will always be three types of readers that walk away from a Grant Morrison story: (1) Those that had no idea what happened and did not like it, (2) Those that had no idea or little idea what really happened but enjoyed the story and (3) those who understand the messages between the lines.  ...

I am in the minority that is just not impressed with this mini series. We've essentially reached the turning point in which Batman starts to take on more of the characteristics of Batman, but still, month after month, I drag my feet to read this. As another reviewer pointed out, if not for the Bruce Wayne name, this comic would not find it's way into my shopping bag. I understand Grant Morrison's style is one of gradual plot development and cryptic story elements. I like Grant Morrison, I really...
