Digging Deeper in Bruce's Past #2

Grant Morrison is acclaimed because he is one of the few writers who really push the medium to its potential. Part of the reason he can do this is because of his knowledge in the Occult.   There will always be three types of readers that walk away from a Grant Morrison story: (1) Those that had no idea what happened and did not like it, (2) Those that had no idea or little idea what really happened but enjoyed the story and (3) those who understand the messages between the lines.   With Grant Morrison spearheading Batman, the three camps have been more obvious than ever.   Some old fans have left the series and have not comeback, many have stayed on for the ride and try to understand as much as they can.   The following review is more about the Occult symbols and why it is making Batman the level of young Vertigo when Grant Morrison was making his name.

What makes this series really nice is the reread level.  There is so much hidden knowledge (occult) in his book that the more research you do, the more you notice that things are there on purpose. Carrying on from where issue #1 left off and the H.P. Lovecraft like monster is explained as being a "curse".   Grant Morrison would also explore the biblical prophecy of Revelations 13:1-2 (KJV 1900) -  " upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy."

The Sigils (Heroes Logos) on the cave walls would make an appearance again in this comic, this time as necklace charms.  Annie "the witch" would be there keeper.  She would have these items because she would be the portal to the Occult.

These are just examples of how deep we can get into Grant Morrison's work.  If you would like to add something or talk more about the comic in general, I would love to discuss the layering in the comment section.
    Cheers

Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne #2.  In the second installment of the 6 part return, Bruce arrives in Puritan Gotham City, as his adventures continue towards, hopefully, his return as Batman.  Also the heroes seen at the end of the last issue take a more prominent role in their search for Bruce.   What You Need To Know. Bruce Wayne was sent back in time, thanks to Darkseid at the end of Final Crisis.  Somehow Bruce wound up at the beginning of mankind, where he fought until an eclipse brought ...

      Morrison Ups the Ante 0

Well our story of Bruce Wayne's return continues and this issue does not dissapoint  As if the climax of last issue did not make the story a Grant Morrison story, the much larger section about Hal, Superman, Booster, and Rip certainly nails in the feel. I wasnt too sure with how I felt about that last issue, but after what transpired and some more information being revealed I really dig this part of the story. On a random note the bit about the Universe ending in 9 minutes and what not really re...
