    Great like the TV Show

Because the show was an enormous success it was decided that Batman should be brought to the big screen so we have Batman: The Movie.

I consider this second best batman film because I thought was enjoyable and it was never boring. What people don't understand is that Batman can be played as a dark vigilante or you can play him in a more lighthearted way both work. I actually don't mind all of the campy aspects of the film or the humor.

I think Adam West makes a great Batman and I would even go as far to say that he's the third best Batman ever just behind Michael Keaton in second and George Clooney in first. He may not give us the dark and tormented Batman but he gives a smart Batman that is prepared for anything and everything.I think he was the Best Bruce Wayne thought, because he looks and sounds like how i would picture Bruce Wayne, I still think Adam West should have accepted the offer to play james Bond though because he would have made a great Bond. He is aided by his young ward Dick Grayson/Robin played by Burt Ward. I have always thought Burt ward was the best Robin despite that he has a horrible costume. I love Frank Gorshin as the Riddler because he's great and he's not a Joker knock off like he is Batman Forever and he's not Jim Carrey. Burgess Meredith is still my favorite Penguin, I thought Danny Devito was good but Tim Burton's version of the character was way too messed up and creepy looking. Cesar Romero is great as The Joker and played just how Joker was written at the time, the character was a murderer in the 40's Batman comics but in the 50's he became more lighthearted and wouldn't become the murderer again until 1968. I still think he was the second best Joker after Jack Nicholson. Lee Meriwether is good as Catwoman, as good as Julie Newmar, better than Eartha Kitt, and not as good as Michelle Pfeiffer though.

The story is about the four villains who wan to take over the world. It's nothing special but it's entertaining for the run time.

Overall, a great movie for those who like both versions of Batman, not good for those who are obsessed with The Dark Knight because you will definitely not enjoy it.

      Campy but Tolerable 0

Based upon the campy 60's Batman series, I had to admit that this movie had it all. Aside from Adam West and Burt Ward reprising their roles as Batman and Robin, the producers decided for a full on bonanza of super-villains; throwing in the Joker, the Penguin, Catwoman, and the Riddler into the mix as well as use of the infamous Batmobile but the Batchopper and the Batboat. That was huge to me when I was a kid! The only thing that could possibly have added to the appeal of this movie would have ...
