What makes the Long Halloween so good is that Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale are playing games with us with the slower noir pace that is filled with red herrings.  April Fools is no different.  The definition of a Red Herring is to give the reader a thread and/or plot point to send them off the right track and this issue focuses on the Red Herrings.  The .22 Handgun is pointed out as light enough even a woman can use it.  There are hints Harvey Dent is Holiday.  Even members of the crime families involved are accused as being possible suspects for who is Holiday.

Like all the other issues of the Long Halloween this issue is not extremely strong on its own, but this issue can be read on its own since this issues is just a bunch of Red Herrings to the possible right path.  I really did enjoy this issue, but I think it reads too fast since Tim Sale can visually tel a story so well.

THIS IS THE GREATEST ISSUE EVER!  Okay, that last line was a sad excuse for an April Fools joke, but in all honesty, this is a solid issue and was a joy to reread for this review.
