    Batman's dark/supernatural book starts down the rabbit hole 0

    As the crowded list of characters on this issue's wiki page suggests, The Dark Knight #2 has its share of cameos. The New 52 initiative was supposed to draw in new readers, but they will miss a lot here. For instance, they'll miss the significance of the (usually nervous) Ventriloquist hurling Robin and Nightwing through a store window, even if it is explained in some expository dialogue towards the end.New readers won't be completely lost, though.     Extract their blood on a regular basis 0

    After last issue's lead-in to a defeated Batman, things do not get better for him here, at least not immediately, but as he eventually escapes from Two-Face he discovers that there is more at play here than he had originally assumed.  Still it is not so much the action here which makes this a strong issue (though the action is good) rather it is the characterizations.  The brief interlude of various Gotham crimefighters felt perfectly in place, but more so it was the short discussion between Bat...

    The Story: The criminals from Arkham Asylum are running lose throughout Gotham. It's up to Batman and the rest of the Bat Family to round them up before things get out of hand. My Thoughts:Out of the four Batman series from the new 52, I think this one has received the most negative criticism. I will admit I was on the edge about how this series would turn out after the end of the first issue. David Finch and Paul Jenkins manage to kill any doubts I had with this second issue.
