Now it's Getting interesting!
the Superman/Batman title Is actually one of the few series i look froward too(Action Comics Being second). I've Fairly Liked what greg pak has done with so far and i do think that it's still very promising. however there were some issues i had with The characterization of Young Superman. i know that when he is young he is supposed to be a bit more cocky and Harsh but previously he acted way out of character, and got really angry. however, This issue Provided Much needed Improvement.
The Art here is divided in to two pats. On one hand we have jae lees. Jae lee is really good at telling a story, which i've said multiple times now, but it's true, he can really set a Mood with his art. The great Thing about it is that you can Tell the emotions characters are emitting without the need of Using text, not many artist can pull that off. On the Other hand, we have An art much suited for a flashback sequences, which has a lighter tone and works well with the story.
The Plot is Slowly revealing itself. at The begging we really had no idea what was going on or what the trickster had in mind, and in many ways we still don't. This could be a bad thing but in this case it works because issue by issue the plot is slowly deconstructed, which makes the overall experience much more interesting. The characterization is good, i've loved greg paks batman so far and i think he does a really good job of capturing his personality, even at a younger age. I'm Still slightly irked about the YOUNG more cocky version of superman, and i do want to take away points for it, but it would be unfair due to the fact that Greg Pak at the same time Demonstrates and shows the contrast between the Older and Younger Clark Kent. The Older one from earth two is already an chill, smart and kind man who has already proven to be a symbol of hope, while the younger version while good at heart is still struggling with his control, which in a way seems natural. One thing I very much enjoyed is superman Referring to Wonder Woman as "ma'am", it just seemed so official and formal and it's something you'd expect from Clark.
if i had to Nit pick, i'd say i disliked the fact that Greg is foreshadowing the Wonder Woman/superman relationship, but that's not really his fault as he is just trying to stay into continuity.
I'll say that this was a fairly solid issue and i enjoyed the heck out of it. While the last one had more Problems i thing we are moving towards progress every day.
