    Long Shadows

Mediocrity at its most mediocre should be this book's slogan. Why? Well, I'm here to tell you. The premise of this book is that this is Dick's first adventure as Batman and it’s supposed to show how he is different from Bruce. It does do that, but it tried a little too hard to do it, and made the points too obvious. Overall the plot was alright but nothing spectacular. Judd Winick's writing is not that great, and at times the characters seem really... well, out of character. Like on one page Dick comes off as a whiny jerk, which is pretty much the opposite of him. Ed Benes art on the first issue is really good, and in fact its better than Mark Bagley's art, which is in the other four issues. Bagley's art isn't bad, but Benes is just a lot better. So, like I said before, this book is not that great, and Batman fans should spend their hard earned money elsewhere.

Dick Grayson attempts to step out of that shadow but learns very quickly that this job is a lot harder then he thought it would be.  One of the first things Dick does after becoming Batman ...
