Finding out who REALLY is behind this!

The fight for Gotham continues, and the evil forces behind the chaos are tightening their grip! Plus, key players are revealed to be apart of fighting for Gotham's soul!

    We trusted you Lt. Bard!

Big things happen in this story, and it changes everything for the series! From Lt. Bard being revealed as one of the villains to Hush's New 52 debut, the writers of Batman: Eternal really outdid themselves with this 21st issue. However, as this was an outstanding issue, it did have a weak spot. The stories that appeared in this issue (specifically Alfred and his daughter) it seemed like the prior times we've seen them together does not add or take away from the story. Seeing Alfred try to rekindle the relationship he once had with his daughter isn't all that interesting, because the writers have played it off as something boring or unimportant. Only now, it seems that the writers are still trying to make us believe that Alfred in, however many days have gone by, has still not made an effort to tell his daughter that he's working for Batman. This aspect of this issue could have been handled in a better way, but nothing is perfect so at least just this one element of this issue had to suffer.

The "Secrets revealed." aspect of this entire issue was a joy to finally see! The writers have done a great job so far building up to this 21st issue, and are really going to take off flying (assumedly) in the issues to come. Seeing a character like Lt. Bard as one of the bad guys was an interesting reveal, but not shocking. While it would have been interesting to see Lt. Bard follow in the footsteps of Gordon and become the city's commissioner, he could've proved to be a great ally of Batman. However now, he's a small piece in a larger threat, a threat that hasn't revealed itself yet. So while it was intriguing, it also placed Bard in a category like hired help or generic. But still, Bard's reveal is just one small stepping stone in the right direction for this series. Plus, Hush made his New 52 debut and I'm intrigued in what role he'll be playing in the New Gotham Order and how Batman will react to Hush's return.

In conclusion, this is worth checking out. I suggest start reading this series with this 21st issue and continue to work your way up. Things are finally getting more-and-more complex; 4 out of 5.

I seriously cannot say anything about this issue without giving anything away so I can only leave it at this. Amazing writing, amazing artwork just over all a really amazing issue. I guess you can call this the beginning of the second act of Batman Eternal. More characters are coming into play as the plot thickens. Just read it. Seriously, do it....
