I picked up the whole series for this one and am reading them all at once.   I knew nothing about this story line before getting them, just like Batman stories and picked it up. Well, issue number one had me going from the start.  Batman is on the run from the police.  He's keeping an eye on the gubernatorial run of Senator Evan Gregory.  Lo and behold, who shows up to announce his candidacy, but the Joker.  The only knock I can really give is how they drew the Joker.  If face just looked "off" ...
