The Good: A very nice looking cover.
As the solicit promises, it's a special glimpse into the mind of The Dark Knight. There's so many little touches in here to separate it from the normal Batman stories. You really do get a closer look into Batman's mind as he works an everyday run-of-the-mill case. You see each and every little step that goes into solving this case. Without that extra oomph, this comic could've fit into about 5 pages. It takes something that would normally be a detour in a bigger story and shows you all the little details that go into it.
The art is really nice but what makes it great is the layout of the art. The panels are set up in a really interesting way that compliments the art quite nicely.

The Bad: The plot itself is nothing spectacular. It's not that interesting. Yet, that's kind of the point. It's not the story that makes the issue, it's the presentation of the story that makes it shine.

    In Conclusion: 5/5
Is this comic going to change the way you think? No. Is it a fantastic tale of mystery and intrigue? No. Is it a highly entertaining comic? Yes. As it's been said about the recent arc of Detective Comics, this comic has that quality to it that makes it just good. It's entertaining. It's actually really damn entertaining. And in the end, isn't that what we read comics for? Entertainment? Not only that, it embraces what I feel Batman Confidential is supposed to be about. Telling you different stories about Batman that aren't bound by continuity. Batman Vs. The Undead bored me to tears. I read the first issue in the store and refused to continue this series. I only just happened to decide to pick this one up by the nice sleek cover, and I did not regret. I may have to give Confidential another chance to impress me.
