    There's something wrong with the programing on this site for this series. I gave issue #9 a 4 out of 5.

    Ha! No Red Hood! Sure, Batman's still responsible for making the Joker, but I like this better than Alan Moore's version!

    The crooks take Mr. j to an old chemical plant to kill him off slowly, against Batman's orders. As they beat the crap out of him, they realize that he was conscious the whole beating. He tells them they're doing it wrong. Craziness ensues. Literally.

    Bats, feeling guilty for sending the crooks to kill Jack, hurries to the area (how'd he know to go there?) Suddenly, he sees what he helped create; The Clown Prince of Crime.

      This story line makes Batman indirectly responsible for the Joker's chemical bath & excludes the Red Hood entirely. We also get to see a nice demonstration of the Joker's high tollerance or even indifference to pain, making a connection to an older Joker origin story about his childhood by mentioning that his mother used to beat him. After a while, he gets pissed-off & launches himself into the chemicals, taking the guy he's fighting with him. This part goes well with his lack of fear of...
