Opening Issue
Batman fails to save a single mum looking after her child. The killer broke in through a window and bashed the woman to death, didn’t use any of his bullets. He then hid in a closet until Batman arrived and started shooting him with his silenced gun. Batman chases him out onto the roof of a building and catches him by lassoing his batarang around his neck. The killer is equipped with military-grade hardware but as Batman tries to ask him where he got it from, an assassin with a high tech laser gun takes out the killer, a shot that was meant for Batman. This was AWESOME, the guy just evaporated after the laser hit him just leaving the killers' jason’esque mask lying on the floor.
Bruce goes to a conference to sell his O.G.R.E, for the Defence Department’s Remote Warfighting Contractors. He is up against Lex Luthor who is trying to sell a ‘sentient robot’, Wayne argues that machines don’t have feelings and would become a danger to humanity. Things don’t end well for Bruce after the conference one of his O.G.R.E models turns ‘evil’ and throws a truck at Lex Luthor.
Over all I like this comic and it makes me want to pick up the next issue to see what has happened to Wayne Tech’s machine. One objection I have is that the O.G.R.E is somewhat reminiscent of the Alien from Alien vs Predator. Not a particularly attractive Batman, his ears are very short and sometimes there is no dip in his profile between his brow and his nose. However, I really like the vibrant colours and the ink work.
