Feels like Batman.
This is another Batman: Black & White collection, and a great one at that.
I love short stories. I think that Batman is awesome. This book has both of them alot. Alot, I tell ya. These are stories that define who Batman is, and also have alot of action. In just 8 pages per story! Some of the stories merely guest star Batman, while others are the main characters. All of these stories are truly little (maybe unknown) masterpieces.
A bunch of the creators in this issue are either maestros of storytelling, or really good. Many of the stories in the book are also based on ideas not used before. My faforites of the not so usual stories are "The bet " ,and the story written by Chris Claremont (!). The art of the stories is top notch.
This feels like Batman. Also, it`s big. A4 paper-kinda-big. Well, at least the Finish version is.
Most of the stories were originally published in Gotham Knights, but there`s also 5 stories that were made for this book only. So if you have those issues of Gotham Knights, but buy this book for those 5 stories, you`ll have alot of those stories. Twice.
Was there something bad about this issue?
In the end...
If you don`t have those issues of GK (the newest edition of the greatest Joker stories ever told has the Paul Dini and Alex Ross story also, by the way), freakin` buy it. Or at least borrow it from a library or a friend/someone you know who might borrow it for you. That`s what I did. But only if you`re a Batman fan. Or you will be.
