Close Encounters
This issue is the best of the series so far. Of course the others were not that great, but still. Let's start with the writing. Beechin's dialogue is good for the most part, but there are some points where his writing feels out of character, but overall it's good. Benjamin's art is good in some places, bad in others. There are some pages that are really good, like the full 2 page picture on page 2 and 3, and some where it looks just terrible, like pretty much any time there's a close-up of a face. The story actually seems to be going somewhere finally, although it still seems too much like Return of the Joker and uses too many of Bruce's rogues. Overall this is a decent issue that you should pick up if you bought the first two.
