Batman Beyond Continues to be Excellent 0

The Good: It's Batman Beyond, that alone is a good. We get to see our first battle between Hush and Terry. THE WALL is keeping secrets. THE WALL is just as intimidating as ever. Excellent Kingdom Come reference. It ties itself right into Return of The Joker without strangling itself with it. It also further distinguishes itself from it quite nicely. SPOILER ALERT: Our first ever sighting of Future Dick Grayson. : ALERT OVER.Still overall great writing.  The Bad: It's not just Terry, all the McGi...

    A Step Up? 0

Previously on this Batman Beyond mini-series, I have praised Adam Beechen for making the most of the 32-page format after giving an all too short introduction with Issue #1. But a constant thorn in this book has been the art of Ryan Benjamin. Can Issue #3 keep up the momentum its previous issue has done? Put on your batsuits, as I review Batman Beyond #3.  The Good  How could Hush know that, I wonder. Working off a solid conclusion, Adam Beechen has made a good opening narrative in the start...

    Review: Batman Beyond #3 0

Terry McGinnis sees himself spread thin as his Batman duties start intruding on his normal - - a dilemma ratcheted up by the increased lethality of Hush's vendetta against the rogue's gallery.  The Good Everything I loved about Batman Beyond is back! It's like no time has passed at all. A lot of us used to comment that when BB was it's best, it recalled the classic Lee/Romita era of Spider-Man and that's very much the case here. You can't help but feel for Terry as he tries to do right and liv...

    Close Encounters 0

This issue is the best of the series so far. Of course the others were not that great, but still. Let's start with the writing. Beechin's dialogue is good for the most part, but there are some points where his writing feels out of character, but overall it's good. Benjamin's art is good in some places, bad in others. There are some pages that are really good, like the full 2 page picture on page 2 and 3, and some where it looks just terrible, like pretty much any time there's a close-up of a fac...

    Good story, terrible art 0

Perhaps it's the fact that this is #3 in the series, I don't know.  But Ryan Benjamin either needs to learn how to draw human faces or simply drop whatever stylistic crap he thinks he's doing in this book.  The story by Adam Beechen is awesome.  I love the additions of Calendar Man, Catwoman, and of course our guest of honor Hush!  But as good as the story is, it's really being dragged down by the art.  I will certainly continue reading this book because I love Batman Beyond.  But I would REALLY...

There's all sorts of encounters with this book 1

Terry finally comes to face with Hush and after the confrontation, some surprises are in store for Terry.  Pros:    I like the R&R time Terry spends with the people important to him in his civilian life, despite Hush being out there. This leads to a confrontation with Bruce as he states to Terry that he's not dedicated to the "mission".  Even though Terry has been Batman for quite some time now, he's still new and still make mistakes. Bruce realizes this as well, and being the kind of per...

Batman Beyond #3: Hush Beyond Part 3 1

"It's Not Curiosity That's About To Kill You." - Hush. Check out the review for the past issue: http://bit.ly/9Qf0Zp. Batman Beyond: Hush Beyond Part 3 of 6 continues! As Bruce and Terry's partnership continue to become, uh, strained, Terry is eventually going to hang up the futuristic cape and cowl (you know what I'm saying). As Terry fails to save Julian Day (Calender Man), Bruce is going to replace Terry with the "Bat-Wraiths!" As Terry thought he could trust Bruce that he wouldn't repla...
