Terry is chasing a few bad guys. Then three new superbeings interrupt the chase and catch the crooks. They`re Magma, Freon and 2-D Man: The Trio.
A few months before, they were three, superpowerless scientists. Then a nuclear experiment goed wrong, and they were transformed.
they`re looked up to as heroes. But Magma who looks less human than his two teammates, is regarded a monster.
Magma steals a DNA test that was run on their DNA. Terry shows up and tries to stop him, but is overpowered by Magma, who leaves the building. Terry follows.
Magma tells his two mates, that the accidents effects cause negative side effects. They will become psychotic very soon.
Their HQ (and them, of course) is then attacked by the army, because Trio poses too great a threat. They`re believed to be dead, but in reality, they`ve escaped. Terry has been in the HQ, too, and finds this out.
Trio decided to redo the accident, because...they`re crazy?
They find out that their friend knew that the experiment would backfire, but didn`t tell, because he was jealous of Mike Morgan (Magma), and wanted Mary (Freon) for himself.
Terry comes in time to fight against the team, defeat them and avert the disaster.
