    Review: Batman Beyond #1 1

Terry McGinnis returns again in a one month time period as Batman, but this time not in an annual comic but in his own mini-series, featuring a few villains from Batman's past.  The Good More Batman Beyond! It was one of my favorite cartoon series! Anyway, it's good to see McGinnis back in the suit again, even though we saw him two weeks ago in Superman/Batman Annual #4. the artwork in the book is done by Ryan Benjamin, and it looks like Dustin Nguyen's pencils met an updated version of the...

The "Batman Beyond" Mini Is Here...about time, DC. 0

Plot & Action: In our introductory issue to this six-issue mini, we get introduced to a few threads, that I'm sure will collide later. We've got a Cadmus-escaped prisoner targeting old Bruce Wayne villains while the Justice League has asked Terry to join yet again. The plot does mirror one of my favorite animated films, "Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker," so we're not breaking new ground exactly although I am very intrigued to see this villain outright and how Waller/Cadmus is involved.Cha...

    Schway 0

Nostalgia for the great and underrated television show of Batman Beyond aside, DC has given us a great debut for a mini-series I have high hopes for. Welcoming Terry McGinnis into the DC Universe is a tricky task (not everyone can be a Harley Quinn), especially with the current Batman mythos being as confusing albeit enjoyable as it is. This comic did a decent job of combining the style of the show with the caliber of writing that DC Comics have been exhibiting. No, they don't say "Schway" in th...

    Batman Beyond #1 0

It is by sheer perseverance and by luck of the draw that I am able to review this issue, for at the time that I came to the store, there were only 2 issues left of Batman Beyond #1. Meaning? A lot of people have wanted this mini-series to finally happen. As it is more apparent that the DCU's not-so distant future will include Terry McGinnis, this issue brings another contribution to lobby his stay, but the current problem he's enduring seems a little... familiar. So... Ah, slag it, I don't have ...

    The Tomorrow Knight returns 0

How long has it been since Batman Beyond went off the air? Its been a while. Batman Beyond returns in comic book form and its about damn time (unfortunately it just a mini series).   Pros:    I must say that this issue feels like Batman Beyond never ended. I'm a bit surprised though because the way the summary and cover was going for, I figured that the story was going to take place sometime after the JSA Unlimited episode when Terry found out the truth about himself. Apparently, this takes pl...

"No excuses, just do the job." 0

The first issue of a 6-part mini-series, finds Terry McGinnis, the future Batman in the DCAU, against a foe from Bruce Wayne's past, and this foe is hunting former villains as a means to see if he's up to the challenge.  The villain has been detained for years, and as he escapes, he makes it clear he is out for blood, leaving behind a trail full of it.  As McGinnis continues to struggle to balance his high school life with his nights out as the Dark Knight, his life is about to get that much har...

Batman Beyond was one of those titles at DC Comics that I've waited for a long time.As much as I wanted to say it's awesome, I can't.Don't get me wrong, I loved this issue it's just not what I have expected. I began reading and not much has happened and suddenly I found myself on the last page.    The story begins with Amanda and Dr.Reid talking about a patient who has escaped the facility and murdered a lot of people. Amanda is of course aged.Don't forget we're around 2040 and Gotham City be...

Shush! Crazies person on the loose! 0

Issue #1 of Batman Beyond is every thing I want out of a Batman Beyond story and then some.  You have the tried tested and true relationship between McGinnis and Bruce Wayne where McGinnis (even if he will not admit it) is trying to live up to Bruce's expectations and Bruce is only handing out the tough love.  Then mix in Bruce's past coming back to haunt Gotham and thus making life difficult for McGinnis and you have the makings of some great story telling.  The story opens with an unknown pers...

Terry returns as the one and future Batman 0

The animated Batman Beyond did something that no other Batman cartoon up to it has done; Be on par with Batman: The Animated Series. The show would’ve been a hokey, future version of Batman, but by including an aged Wayne and a protagonist that wasn’t an annoying teenager, it became the second best Batman series ever. Now Terry McGinnis is back with his own six issue comic series. And he is back with a bang. The first thing I noticed here was how well the art mimicked the 1999 animated series. It...

The return of the Batman....Beyond 0

I gotta say I love Batman Beyond and I really wish this series would be an ongoing series. I missed this soo much and not to say the cartoon as well. After that amazing annual id say Terry McGinnes is making a comeback. Well a tiny one at least. This issue wasnt all Hooplaa as many thought it would be but the series seems promising. Like most say we want to see Batman Beyond against Batman Beyond Villains not Old hasbeen Bruce Wayne Batman Villains! And especially not Hush! He (in my opinion) i...

    Beyond what? 0

I am pretty familiar with the old Batman Beyond TV series and this comic seems to be pretty good at copying many aspects from the series.  Although they would have never dealt with a serious villain like Hush.  I really like most of the art but most of that appreciation are concerning the Batman areas.  The actual people by and large aren't drawn very well.  I certainly enjoyed both the story and the majority of the art but it's just not quite perfect. ...

Batman Beyond #1: History Repeats 1

"Okay Just Give Me A Minute." - Terry McGinnis. The Batman of the future returns to comic book history! With an elderly Bruce Wayne (who was the original Batman) continuing to teach Terry, he might not be ready for a threat like this! An old Batman (Bruce Wayne) villain returns to kill off many of Bruce Wayne's old enemies. With most already dead, and others in Arkham Asylum or in a old folks home, Terry must protect them to find out who this mystery villain is! Writer Adam Beechen and arti...

He Told Me To Hush 0

Hey there y'all. Well it's once again the holiday season, and I have a bit more time on my hands than usual and, as such, it's time to start up another retrospective. Let's see, last year I did an obscure Batman story, let's not break this... tradition? This time out we got a story that immediately caught my eye when I saw the trade paperback in Barnes and Noble. Batman Beyond: Hush Beyond. Not only am I a huge fan of the Batman Beyond Universe, having watched every episode of the show when I wa...
