He tells us the end of the story only soon after he told us the begining. This in continuity story dives into the future of the Batman story and foreshadows shit that's going down later on.

I wasn't particularly entertained or blown away by this issue, but the contents of it are important to the overall direction of this series in the future. Essentially, what we're getting here is a statement, "this is what the Batman series will be about in 15 years." Now to actually do something like that is insane. First of all, it will be a hard task to follow a pattern emerging at this end result for the next fifteen years, but we've already seen Grant Morrison developing towards it.

For example, about three or four arcs before the Battle for the Cowl and already, we learn that Dick has been Batman at one point. Damian, (the Batman in this future world) states that both his father as well as Dick Grayson have both been batman. Sure enough, anyone smart enough to visit the current Batman and Robin series or the current Batman series can see that this has come true.

Already, two years before Batman Reborn and already, Grant Morrison is telling us what's happeining in that arc.

Clearly, he has a huge plan going! Introducing villans, concepts, heroes that haven't even been revealed until 2009 in this book... he's following a path.

Belive me when I saw that Morrison is planning out these Bat books for the next ten or so years and this book, Batman #666, is the end result. I'm not even lying. He has it all planned and that is frankly something that's astounding.

Morrison just rocked the hell outta the bat with this issue, a Gotham City overruned by Batman's impersonators, all of them a bunch of crazy f*ckers eager to deliver ruthless justice, using the name of the batman as an excuse for slaughter... So Damian Wayne (who looks like Bruce and Ra's Al Ghul mixed) Must stand again those imposters who are desecrating his father's legacy. Damian who has a "way" Of doing things (killing, bobby trapping things and such, he's VERY SMART), is on warpath to terminate those who are not worthy of the Bat's legacy...

This comic is set in a dark future. This comic gives us a glimpse of what morrison wants to achieve when he writes the characters. it is possible that when morrison writes for the characters he will introduce them again but show how they became Batman's villains (morrison introduced pyg and flamingo were introduced in Batman and robin). this shows beautifull art created by andy kubert. basically damian has become the new batman and the entire city has turned dark(er) and as everyone knows damian is not afraid to shed blood. this also does give insight on the origins of damian. a stunning story written by morrison for issue #666- the number of the devil

Yes another bleak future book, but this one is good. Morrison brings a highly entertaining story here. Bruce Wayne is dead. Now Damien, the son of Bruce, is the new Batman. He knows he is not as good as Bruce despite his life long training. Or even Dick for that matter. I love the new costume and this Batman is bald and he is a cheater and yes a killer. I hate that but that is what Damien is about. He said he tries not to kill, but he seems to a lot. The son of Talia and Bruce he tries to fight a Batsuit wearing anti Christ and Damien reveals that he sold his soul for Gotham to always be protected. Barbara is the new commish and hates him. Overall great art and writing. 2 thumbs up.
