THE GOOD: Jason Fabok is the artist on this annual, and he makes it look wonderful. It is really clean, but also has a sketchy feeling to it. I really like the way the backgrounds look. They are very detailed and there are a lot of fun little additions in the backgrounds that will gives fans something to look for. The story is dark and truly amazing. For a long time Mr. Freeze has been kind of stupid. If I remember correctly they dabbled with him being some sort of Neo-Nazi but even then he was pretty 2-dimensional. I think this annual does a lot to change that.Before we dive any deeper I didn't read Court of Owls. There are a number of references to it and every time that happens I was all "Oh... right". I gather Freeze was somewhere between a minor and a medium size player in that arch. That doesn't really seem to matter though because thi...

Ok My review of Batman Annual #1, what can I say I liked the art the story was ok but time continuity and even the changes they did to freeze....I don't like it, why change Freeze from a character you actually felt for ala Batman TAS origin and even pre 52 origin which followed the TAS origin of Freeze.But it's not all bad, this comic has superb art, it's one of the better new 52 Batman comics I've seen art wise so kudos for Jason Fabok on his excellent art.
