Batman and Robin #14 - Devoured by batwatch on November 14, 2012

Batman and Robin #14In the past month, I have read the first nine issues of the DCNU Batman and Robin, and I must say, I am shocked at how far this series has fallen since its original stellar story arc. The recent issues of Batman and Robin have been okay, but they are not nearly as high quality as the early issues. Batman and Robin #13 was downright bad having no real point, at least one major plot whole, and slew of zombies for no apparent reason. Does this next issue pack a little meat on it...

The cover is nice with Joker's chattering teeth spattering blood everywhere in Batman's hand.......yay more "Eat to Live" incessantly raping my eye sockets with the first half of the story being nothing but speech bubbles saying it over and over again...Tomasi has forever embedded this phrase into the back of my mind... By this point I don't think the zombies are playing any important role whatsoever. Just here to be annoying and give Tomasi a reason to write in blood and gore for the artist(s)....

I've been liking Batman and Robin since its very start, but this zombie storyline disappointed me. It felt like there was no point in it, no reason for it to be there, but to slow down the series and the Death of the Family arc. Batman did say the Joker had something to do with the clan of mad people, but honestly, I couldn't understand his explanation.Batman and Robin #14 is packed with action. 15 of its pages are basically fighting scenes, that may be fun and intriguing, but after a while, it ...
