Jason Todd, the second Robin, has gone missing in search of his birth mother. Forced to ignore the growing threat of the Joker, Batman must track down his missing apprentice and help him before it all becomes too late.

Batman readers were all able to join a vote for Jason to live or for him to die by calling 2 1-900 numbers one to vote for him to live and one to vote for him to die when it was done the votes were 5,271 for him to live and 5,343 for him to die so writers listened to the readers and killed ROBIN! As the second person to assume the role of Batman's sidekick, Jason Todd had a completely different personality than the original Robin. Rash and prone to ignore Batman's instructions, Jason was always quick to act without regard to consequences. In this fatal instance, Robin ignores his mentor's warnings when he attempts to take on the Joker by himself and pays the ultimate price: his life. Driven by anger with Superman by his side, Batman seeks his vengeance as he looks to get vengence on the Joker and make sure he never kills again.

Clearly, though by a much smaller percentage than I would have thought, the people chose death for J...

╮(╯▽╰)╭I expected this to be as good as Batman: under the red hood, but apparantly not.As a newly, self-developed comic fan of batman, it's been quite difficult to decide what to read. This one's lack of emotion foreshadowing really annoys me. Maybe the next one I read won't disappoint....

Let's face it, "A Death in the Family" isn't one of the most popular books written about the Caped Crusader.  Nor has Jason Todd (or what they decided to do with him after his death) really been considered a cornerstone to the Batman family.  In this four part volume (which celebrated it's 20th birthday last year) we follow Robin on a cross-country journey to find his real mother.  Jason meets up with several women, none of whom are her.  When he finally meets up with his real mother, the story ...
