    Double sized "Dark City" conclusion.

    Plot

Batman is buried out of the bones,we left him in #27,takes his Bat-Blimp (yeah....a Bat Blimp....okay Bruce you're rich and all,but this is just bragging....hope the Bat-Blimp is a regular in Arkham Knight!!) and goes up to stop Riddler's Weather Baloon which is causing the flooding of the whole city.--by the way the city is flooding....-- .He gets there and finds Death ,who's obviously there to protect the baloon from a potential visit from Batman. They fight, Batman wins(duh) but he wasted time on the fight and the damage is done,so Riddler is in absolute control of the coty now,and Batman lost!! ..
This is the end of Part 2 of the Zero year arc, "Dark City" ....starting Batman #30 we're getting into "Savage City".

    Thoughts

This is a great issue, well written, the art is never a minus when Capullo's drawing, colours are spectacular and feel like a colourful goth style, which is wierd and exciting at the same time etc.

There are some points i'd like to address though.
The issue is 40 pages long.If you hear "Snyder-Batman-40pages" in one sentence you can only pee your pants out of happiness, right?! yes....But,this issue while being well written and having a good story, you could very easily suppress it into 10-15 pages....It feels like it's streched a little.I mean there aren't so much stuff happening at the same time,so you need 40 pages to understand what's going on.
There are 2 plots.Gordon's side, and Batman's side. And they both do one thing.Gordon's infiltrating Wayne Tower to find Nygma, and Bats is trying to shut down Riddler's machine on the weather ballon. There are no subplots at all.Well except the 2 pages of the parents flashback, which is a regular in the Zero Year books, now, but it's two pages i mean.....yeah.

Another thing that fascinated me,this time, was that Batman lost......hard.He tried to stop Riddler from doing what he's doing and he failed. And it wasn't a bank robbery or a not-paid parking ticket or something.....it was stopping Riddler from taking control over the whole city, while it's flooding......it's big,so the failure is big as well....
I am sure there is a morale lesson and some kind of redemption in Savage City, but still,i was waiting for the bada$$ Batman momment, that never came, and i was stunned.

Snyder continues to write a more angry-young-reckless version of Bruce, and it's really exciting to see that he can pull of both versions of the dark knight.

Capullo's art is gorgeous, and again i'll point out the colours and inks......Zero Year looks fenomenally gorgeous also because Fco Plascencia, and Danny Miki are the colourist and inker of the series......as i said earlier,it's a dark, goth style which makes the series extrordinary good looking.

    Purple gloves forever.

GoodA good book in my opinion is a combination of quality writing and quality art. This book has hit the perfect balance, I love it to pieces. I can’t think of how best to describe the perfect fusion of Snyder and Capullo, the pair play off each other so well that it’s just incredible. The reason I’m fawning like this is because of the opening and closing of this issue. At the beginning we see certain actions, that a young Bruce Wayne took, which led to that terrible event in C...

Batman's doing his best, but is it enough? 0

Riddler's master plan is about to bring Gotham City to it's knees! Will Batman be able to stop it in time? The GoodGreg Capullo's scary good Dr. Death art. Scott Snyder is doing a great job so far with telling his version of Batman's origin. It's exciting, good story, and has early incarnations of more well known Batman villains -- fighting against a Batman with little experience. And Batman having little experience plus having trust issues is really great for this solo Batman title; as it really...
