    HAHAHA! - Joker '12 2

History and experience has showed us what to expect from a good Joker story and ironically that is unpredictability. We all know that the sadistic clown will always fill his fair share of body bags and send a whole city howling in fear but what has really defined the character throughout his long and illustrious career are the pantomime moments. The Joker at heart is an exhibitionist, an extroverted actor playing to a brainwashed audience and we all know his favourite co-star/plaything is the Ba...

Plot SummaryThe long wait is over as Death of the Family finally starts this week. Batman's most twisted nemesis returns after a long hiatus in hopes of rekindling his special relationship with him. Joker is not alone, but so is Batman. What does the Clown Prince of Crime have in store for Batman and Gotham City?ReviewThe creative team for Batman was given a lot of pages to work on for Joker's return and they didn't disappoint. The cover for this issue is not only beautiful, but it's very symbol...

    Batman #13 2

.....this was amazing. I've been looking forward to this for months, and Snyder delivered. Capullo makes everything look stupendous and gritty. Batman is having a reunion with arguably the greatest villian of all time; Joker. This story, by the looks of it, is going to be another home-run, but with Joker messing around we know that we wont be smiling for long... or will we, but on to the reviewTHE GOOD:We start off with Bullock and Gordon talking on the roof about the strange occurences happenin...

    Boring Crowd! 2

This was simply amazing! This comic is worth buying just for the art. However, the story is also a freakin` masterpiece!Synopsis: Joker gets manages to get his face back and plots to kill Mayor Hady at midnight. However, instead if killing him, he kills his men. Batman asks Alfred how they died and besides naming the necessary toxins for the poison, Pennyworth also tells Bruce that three non-essential components were added. They are Aspirin, Chlorine and Ethane. Got it? If you didn`t, read the f...

Put on a happy Face 2

........uh.........I uh.......... wow. This.......This was dark, VERY dark. I'm in my twenties, I have a full grasp of the difference between fiction and reality, and I'm still sleeping with the lights on this evening. We start with the Joker arriving at a the police station to retrieve his severed face. The lights go out and the Joker tries to tell a joke. Any one who interrupts the joke gets their neck snapped. Jim Gordon freaks out and starts firing bullets at nothing until the lights go on to...

The Much Anticipated Return of the Joker 0

The Joker has gone through many transformations in the years since his first appearance, from the mirthless killer that he debuted as, to the relatively harmless prankster of the 50's and 60's, to the increasingly lethal but ever humorously macabre lunatic of the late 20th century, to the "hyper-sane" but dangerous-as-ever wild card from Grant Morrison's bat-saga, the clown prince of crime has proven to be an ever-evolving embodiment of evil.Scott Snyder devises yet another alteration to the Jok...

The best Joker storyline in a while 0

Not many people would be able to name more than 5 good, memorable Joker storylines. Death in the Family, Joker's Five-way Revenge, TDKR # 3, and maybe Black Mirror or RIP, but those didn't really focus on the Joker. So, in a way, this is not only the fictional character's return to Batman's life, but his return to form as Batman's arch enemy. Who better to bring the Clown Prince of Crime back than the team that pushed the Dark Knight to his physical & mental limits in the "Court of Owls" arc...

    Jokers Return 2

I have loved Batman all my life and have loved the Joker villain for almost the same amount of time, so I was extremely happy when I heard of this story coming out, and the return of the Joker with it. I have also overall liked this series so far although I felt the Court of the Owls story could have been structured a bit better. I have also loved Capullo's art throughout the series and am happy he is back for this story. This issue sees the return of the Joker who creates a momentary blackout at...

The Psychotic Perspective: Batman #13 10

Knock, KnockIt almost seems unnecessary to even talk about Batman #13 since it will probably be the single most discussed Batman issue of this year with the possible exception of the climax issue of the series depending on what Joker and Snyder have cooked up. Nonetheless, I paid extremely close attention to this issue, and I am ready to throw in my two cents. Hopefully, you will find my thoughts worthwhile. This is the first issue of what is likely to be Snyder’s final run on Batman for he has c...

THE GOOD: Greg Capullo does an amazing job at drawing Gotham. The whole feeling the book has because of him should be noted. This issue really relies on him to draw the horror of the Joker but in a way to where we don't really see it and he nails it perfectly. As normal, Gotham City also looks better then it has in some time. The story is just fantastic. Scott Snyder has given us nothing but the best for 13 issues and this issue looks to take things higher then ever before. We get to see the Jok...

    Another Bat-Event 0

Story--After a year of absence, the crown prince of crime has begun to torment Gotham's dark heroic society once again.Good--the perfect time of year for a dark story to start, Joker arrives in this dark gritty story just in time for halloween. Everything in this story s creepy, it actually frightened me at times.-I know i've been saying this alot lately, but again, i love this comic's art. As simple as it is, it gets all the emotions and fear into the characters and gives the reader images even...

    Knock Knock Who's There? 0

Admittedly I was worried that the "Death of the Family" event was over hyped and I was especially worried that Zack Snyder would do his over stressing of the Joker's letters but after reading Batman #13 my fears have been quelled. I have absolute faith in Zack Snyder to create an epic Joker tale that we will be discussing for years to come. The story is riveting and Im hooked even more than the "Court of Owls" event! Im a firm believer that the Joker should only be used sparingly and saved for t...

Why I Bought ItBatman. Joker. I'm fair game. What I LikedThe argument could be made that this is unlike any Joker we've ever seen because, quite frankly, we haven't really seen Joker in the New 52. Snyder can do whatever he wants with this character and it would make sense to the reader as long as Snyder and Capullo are able to show the emotion of the characters around him successfully. That is where the selling point for the comic, and for this Joker, will be.And we can see that with how James G...

A Comic? Or Something More? 0

Spoiler Alert: No promises that this review won't spoil the comic!About MeWhen I got into comics a few months ago, I immediately started reading Scott Snyder's story arc from Batman #1 to Batman #11. I ended up reading them out of order, but I was nonetheless amazed by the story. Now that I am actually reading his comics in order, his stories are infinitely better. My ImpressionsThis comic book is as close that literature comes to motion picture. The art, especially the paneling and flow of each ...

In Gotham City, things are...happening. Rivers running backwards, a lion cub at the zoo born with two heads. Jim Gordon thinks something is coming. And boy, is he right! The GoodRight from the offset, the art had me hooked. Greg Capullo is, simply put, amazing. It was suitably moody, and the few glimpses of the Joker we actually got had me terrified.Scott Snyder's writing was also top-notch. There was a fantastic sense of dread running throughout the issue, and the opening panels set the stage fo...

    The Abyss Laughs Back 0

This was the first time they used the Death of the Family 'Joker face mask' covers, and the gimmick was still fresh and pretty cool. The back flap is a little awkward, it should've been a full back cover, now holding the issue feels a little off. I like the way Capullo managed to make Batman's head fit in line with Joker's face so smoothly, and of course the first time this gimmick was used it looks pretty badass and creepy.Greg Capullo's artwork is seriously amazing. The panel work is utterly c...

What character in the New 52 have we heard little information about? Joker! Scott Snyder has finally decided to bring back the Clown Prince of Crime. Especially with the return of one of the most infamous villains of his time! Snyder and Capullo's Death of the Family starts here! The GoodThis is everything any fan can ask for in a Batman comic! Late on Death of the family 0

For some reason I decided to not read Death of The Family during the months which the story was released. I am a fan of Scott Snyder (both his Batman run and his Severed comic) and anticipated great things from him writing about the return of Joker. But I had so much other things to do in the second half of 2012 that I decided to wait until the whole epic was released before I started consuming it. After it ended it actually took another couple of months for me to start read it but I haven't he...
