"Yeah Well...The Night is Still Young" -- Batman #0

What actually happened in Bruce's early years prior to becoming Batman? Series creators Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo are prepared to answer this question along with writer James Tynion IV and artist Andy Clarke in this story that will no doubt make you crave more BATMAN.

The Good

Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's work on the previous two story arcs of this series have been incredible because of the way the characters are placed in the story and seeing how Batman (and the allies and enemies) react to the situation. All making the experience even better because no one character's experience of a single story arc will be the same for the other, ultimately spawning new ideals for future story arcs. Snyder's story telling on this series has been pulled to new lengths just with the sole creation of the Court of Owls, now with the origin of Batman's past being revealed it will be interesting how this works out when he finishes with Bruce's past. Greg Capullo's artwork on this issue was great to see again since he wasn't on the last issue.

James Tynion and Andy Clarke had a interesting story focusing more on Batman's allies before they became his allies. Characters like Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake and Barbara Gordon appeared in this mini story. Hopefully in future issues Tynion and Clarke will appear to continue working on this story they did an outstanding job on it and the artwork by Clarke was awesome.

The Bad

No complaints here.

Verdict

If -- for some reason -- you missed out on the previous two story arcs of BATMAN, then now is an excellent time to jump onto Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's outstanding interpretation of Batman. Having gone back to explain the events that leads up to Bruce becoming Batman is definitely turning out to be a great experience especially with how Snyder and Capullo's side of the issue ended. It will not be a story to miss out on.

I have loved this series and have been very pleased with the work Snyder has produced on this series. I wasn't a huge fan on his Detective run and didn't like what I read of his Swamp Thing series but he has certainly done a good job on this. This issue also has the amazing art work of Capullo which was sadly missing from the last issue. This story starts with a party getting crashed by a gang called the Red Hood gang (nothing to do with the Jason Todd Red Hood). They find out one of their member...
