    Steph was a great Batgirl!

    Batgirl #24
This is one of the only titles I truly read from the beginning and it's sad to see it go! I know there was some controversy when Stephanie started out as Batgirl and I have to say I really did enjoy her run as Batgirl! I'm excited to see how Babs is going back in the ring as Batgirl but I'll never forget Steph's run! Anywho this issue is the conclusion to Batgirl volume 3! It turns out all Steph's dad, Cluemaster, wanted to do was see her again! He got himself thrown in jail for that reason. He  has this plant called Black Mercy which is like a poisonous hallucinogen. He attacks Stephanie with it and tries to get away but she traps him before he gets the chance! She wakes up in a hospital to find that her mother has taken care of her there! Which means her mom knows, but we see that she's proud of Stephanie! The issue ends with Stephanie having an emotional conversation with Oracle about how happy she is and everything and that this isn't the end for her! (even though it kinda is but we'll see once september rolls around!) We also get to see several pages of what Stephanie saw while she was under the hallucinogen!

    The GOOD!
This was a perfect and somewhat emotional conclusion. I didn't expect some epic conclusion to this series. I also didn't expect that I'd like the conclusion to this series either. I was so happy to see that Steph's mom was proud of her and that she found out about her being Batgirl. My friend kinda turned me on to liking the scenario of when people find out people's secret identity and that's why I liked that scene. I also liked really small things in this issue like when we see Damian outside the hospital window saluting Steph. It's a perfect symbol of Damian's attitude of him needing to approve of people when in reality people should be trying to approve of him! I really liked Steph's conversation with Oracle at the end and I kinda feel like it left us at a good point for the new DC universe.

Art: Pere Perez did great on this issue! Especially on Stephanie's fantasy pages! Those pages were great because each page told a story in itself. We didn't need dialogue to see what Steph wanted for the future and I thought that was great! The cover art was amazing! I am a Dustin Nguyen fan and always will be! I love how it included almost every character affiliated with the series! I was a little upset that Cassandra wasn't on it but what can you do!

    The BAD!
The only part I didn't really like was the Cluemaster parts. It felt a bit forced for the Spoiler fans but I didn't really mind it that much. I wish we could've gotten to see Steph's relationship with guys blossom but maybe in the new DC we will!

    The Verdict!
A fantastic and simple conclusion! This should not be missed! It was an easy and very light read! I say pick it up! 5 out of 5!

Cover Something I always say about my Batgirl reviews is that my favorite series for covers is Batgirl. When I think of the best cover I think of this series. I especially loved this cover because this is the last cover we will see for this series because it is the last issue for the series and it was perfect. The art was perfect and seeing everyone that has come and go through Stephanie’s life on one cover made it great. Story Stephanie meets face to face with her father but her fathe...

Wait, Why the Hell Did We Not Get That in Blackest Night? 0

August is becoming a depressing month as yet another excellent DC series comes to an end. Bryan Q. Miller concludes his Batgirl run as best as he can, and while it is obviously rushed to an end, it still manages to be entertaining and satisfying as ever.  It really needs to be pointed out what a miracle this book has been. This book had no business being... good. Every indication points to DC having had no clue what to do with the Batgirl mantle during Battle for the Cowl. They eventually threw ...
