The new “Batgirl: Wanted” epic begins here, as Commissioner Gordon must track down his son’s murderer—who happens to be his daughter! But has Barbara already given up the Bat?

The Three Towers, Cherry Hill District. Gotham City- Commissioner Gordon and Detective Melody McKenna meet with Charise Carnes. McKenna accuses Charise of being Knightfall, which is true, but Charise denies it. Gordon is only interested in seeing the security tapes from the tower the night his son James Jr. was killed by Batgirl. Charise agrees and sends the Gotham Police away, and once their gone, Charise reveals to her bodyguards that she isn't worried about Gordon she is truly worried about Batgirl.

Meanwhile, Barbara Gordon and Alysia Yeoh are shopping at the mall, when they are accosted by some punks and Barbara uses her training to scare away the two men. This gives her a flashback of killing her brother.

That night Gordon and McKenna go seeking Ricky Gutierrez, because he was seen with Batgirl, but unknown to them that Ricky's brother Rolo, is being held captive by the Sixty-Eights Kings. The leader threatens to kill if Ricky doesn't meet him at Gotham PS 68 in one hour, alone. Ricky calls Barbara to call off their date, knowing that he was probably not going to live though the night.

Barbara tries to talk him out of Ricky out of the suicide mission, but is interrupted when Gordon knocks on Ricky's door and he hangs up on her and escapes out the back window. There he is stopped by McKenna, but overpowers her knocking her unconscious. Gordon checks on McKenna while Ricky escapes. Then Gordon learns that Ricky is dating Barbara and becomes worried about his daughter.

Later that night, Ricky makes it to PS 68 but is noticed by two cops but when they try to arrest him, Barbara, who put a tracker on Ricky's phone and dressed as a ninja ambushes them and knocks them out. Ricky goes inside and attempts to shoot the leader of the Kings and it turns into a standoff. That's when Batgirl shows up and beats up the Sixty-Eight Kings henchmen.

The fight climaxes when the leader is about to shoot Rolo but Ricky overpowers him and takes aim at the leader with the gun he brought, but then the Gotham City P.D. arrives. Gordon sees Batgirl and shoots her, but Ricky gets in the way and takes the bullet for Batgirl. This leaves Ricky bleeding to death in Batgirl's arms.

Alex Garner is a perfect cover artist. Just... perfect. So much detail and realism, and a beautiful sense of layout design. This one's just as intense and gorgeous as the previous two covers.Fernando Pasarin's interior art isn't the museum masterpiece of the cover, but it's damn fine comic artwork. The facial expressions are a little different than most, but once you quickly get used to them, the emotions are all incredibly strong, which is essential to a story like this. The action's pretty gr...

Pretty much a perfect issue. 0

This review was originally posted on my personal blog. So, I just finished reading the new issue of Batgirl by Gail Simone. For the fourth time. I’ve never done that before, ever. There hasn’t been a comic yet that has gotten to me like this one has. Through all the ups and down this title has seen since launch, I’ve stuck with it. Well, technically, I only started reading sometime in August last year, or thereabouts, so I haven’t been reading long, but I’ve stuck with each issue. Gail Simone is...
