Batgirl heads for London
Synopsis: Before joining up with Batman, Stephanie teams up with Squire in London for some fun.
What's Good?
Make no mistake, one of Stephanie's good qualities is being able to work well with other teenage superheroes. Squire is no exception. The two immediately hit it off with Berryl trying to get Stephanie to loosen up a little.
But this isn't all about Batgirl and Squire teaming up in London, Batgirl also has business with Batman. It's understandable why Steph feels a bit uncomfortable working with the original Dark Knight. Although not stated, it could be from the time when she was Robin. Whatever the mission is, I'm sure that Stephanie has learned a lot since that time, and her being Batgirl helped that.
As always, I love the artwork by Dustin Nguyen. Pere Perez is the artist for Batgirl, and he's gladly welcomed. Another shoutout goes to Guy Major with the colors.
What's Bad?
The British lingo can be vexing at times, along with how lax London is somewhat when it comes to crime (I'm more used to it mainly because I'm still lingering off of the Knight and Squire miniseries). Also, the idea of magic playing a part of the story can be a bit off.
Unfortunately, the London storyline crosses over to Batman INC. #9 that doesn't pick up until August at best.
Overall: I'm looking forward to Batman and Batgirl teaming up in Batman INC. Till then, there's only two issues left with the Reapers story concluding around that time. I hate to see this series go.
