EngagementTo see this review with images, Click Here.Everybody has probably heard the big news already; Gail Simone has been fired off Batgirl. It seems an odd choice because Simone has a huge following, good sales, and a fairly consistent record of quality writing. I could have seen how she might have been let go in the early days of the DCNU since the original run of Batgirl left something to be desired, but it has been on a steady incline ever since, and I loved the last issue. Perplexing as ...

THE GOOD: Daniel Sampere does the art in this issue and it's extremely effective for the emotional story. The expressions that he does for the Joker are terrifying and extremely gruesome. The action is so well done that everything that happens looks like it hurts. The backgrounds are very simple but when he does into details, they look extremely good. The story is what really makes this issue the best of the series so far. Joker is portrayed as terrifying as ever. The character that shines that ...

I haven't read a lot of this Batgirl series until Death of the Family, but since I have gotten the first story arc. What I've read of this series I've enjoyed, and not only the Death of the Family stuff. Gail Simone has done an excellent job on this series, and her removal from this series will be disappointing.PlotThis issue sees Batgirl placed with an ultimatum of marrying the Joker to save her mother. Also in this issue Alysia Yeoh phones Barbara's brother James Gordon Jr. (who set her up to ...

ReviewI just wish we could get some consistency from this book. The latest news for Batgirl has been troubling. First Simone was kicked off the book, then she was brought back on. The art team seems to be a rotating cast of a couple artists.Beyond those issues, we have a really great ass kicking Batgirl in this book. Which is great, unless you get halfway through the comic where she recoils her character. Again. All due to a single "sniper" shot from out of nowhere. But where is the sniper at in ...

This cover is utterly brilliant, the combination of a wedding invitation and a playing card, Batgirl gussied up in a veil with flowers, and Joker in his suit and tie; though the hat makes him look a bit like Michael Jackson.Wait.... why is this 'Collision: Part 2'? What happened to Part 1? I'm assuming the previous issue is meant to be considered 'Collision: Part 1' but it's still not, so what the heck? Minor quibble, I know, but it's still annoying to me, when I'm writing I put a lot of thought...

Cover/Solicit - 4/5- Would I pick-up the comic based on the solicit/cover alone? Are the alternate covers appealing? Does the solicit/cover portray what happens in the issue?Art/Colors/Ink - 4/5- Weighted Double- Do I personally like this artist's style? Does the artist stay true to the characters appearance?Does the coloring/inking blend well with the artist? Is the coloring/inking enjoyable and easy to distinguish what's happening?Layout/Flow - 4/5- Does the layout of the issue make it easy to...
