    Clever but Familiar 0

Bryan Q. Miller’s clever idea this month is to team-up Batgirl and Supergirl versus Dracula(s).  Of course, they must start out doing “girl” things and end with doing “girl” things.  Cheesecake abounds during these moments.  I feel like the comic resists, resists, and resists falling into the traditional “badass-girl but wait she’s an extremely girly girl worried about boys and does girly girl things with her girly girl friend” but does it anyway.  Sure, I totally stretched that narrative...

24 Draculas 2 Hero Girls and a Futurama Reference in a Pear Tree 2

The Good: The art. Batgirl's art has been almost consistently good. (Except her Red Robin crossover, eww.) Lots of really nice comedy. A really good show of the friendship dynamic instead of the constant 'grudging ally' dynamic we see a lot of. Batgirl has true camaraderie with Supergirl and it really shows. "Aren't you gonna.. you know…" "Not Unless you wanna see my bra" "Does it have a bat on it?" "I assure you that It does not." A fun montage scene. A FUTURAMA REFFERENCE. SERIOUSLY? I did not...

That pillow fight doesn't sound half bad now does it? 0

Batgirl #14 see's Steph team up with Kara to fight draculax24........................ yeh............. what! Im not joking! it is! Seriously!. Ok so if you want to read an issue of Batgirl which is more serios and more kick-ass and deep this isn't the issue for you. Its more of a comady issue with some cheesiness throwm in. But saying that i didn't think that it was a bad issue.   So its friday night and the crime in Gotham is non-existance ( apparantly it happens ), Oracals busy with the Birds ...

A Girls Night Out Buffy Style 1

Cover The cover art for batgirl is always amazing and for this issue there is no exception. Story A vampire is holding Supergirl and Batgirl and now they are thinking they should of changed their plans and should have had a pillow fight instead. But, 10 hours before this Steph was playing Scrabble with her mom and the door bells rings just in time to save her. It is Supergirl and Steph’s mom is walking by the door and if she sees Supergirl she would find out her secret identity. But, since Kar...

    "You game for a team-up?" 0

100 Words Or LessThings are slow in Gotham and Metropolis so Steph and Kara decide to hang out and watch a movie. Problem is, things are never slow in Gotham. Especially when the movie they are watching gets hit with a blast from a nearby lab and Dracula breaks beyond 3D and crosses over into their world. Now 24 Draculas are on the loose and it's up to Batgirl and Supergirl to stop them. So much for a girl's night out.  So Then I Said...When I first looked at what titles I wanted to read as my i...

    Blonde + Blonde = MORE FUN!! 1

Story: It's a dull family game night with Steph and her mom. The door bell rings and it is Supergirl. Supergirl and Stephanie decide to go out and have fun. Some guy bumps into them because he is in a hurry to get somewhere. He is working on some experiment that goes horribly wrong. Steph and Kara decide to go see the 3-D reproduction of Vampyre's Bride. As they are watching it the movie becomes a little too real and 24 draculas come out of the screen. It's time for the world's finest blondies t...

    I'm tired of vampires 0

I'm so sick of vampires and 3-D lately (You know who you are who started this craze). When I saw the cover with Draculas, I was a bit hesitant.   Pros:   First, I'm glad to see a team up with the new Batgirl and Supergirl again (depending on if you read World Finest recently). This issue doesn't take itself seriously and to me, that's a good thing from time to time especially with a character like Stephanie and sometimes Kara. The way the copies of Draculas are created doesn't exactly make sense....

    Solid and Silly 1

I know i promised a batman and robin review but i kinda got distracted these couple days. i did however read the newest batgirl.  First off. the covers for Batgirl have been Fatastic (albit the last months cover was a bit weird).  Batgirl like gotham city sirens is a comic you shouldnt take too seriously. probably more so. but how can you when its Supergirl and Batgirl fighting 20+ draculas? what insues is a silly comic thats a quick fun read. which is all i really want in this series and was pe...

Terror in the 3rd Dimmension 2

I've just started reading Batgirl and have enjoyed the last handful off issues.  I must say, this one threw me a curve ball.  I wasn't sure how to take it at first.  I must say, I'm not positive I've figured it out yet.  Let me explain... After reading the last few, I was expecting a pretty serious read.  What I got was (what I thought) just a silly fun read.  Not really what I was expecting, and once I figured out what was going on... I enjoyed it better.  That's my take anyway. I do like both ...

    Really Fun 0

A really fun stand alone story, possibly the most enjoyable Stephanie Brown adventure there's been. I recommend anyone who wants a fun light read to give this one a try. Yes it's quite silly but not all super hero comics have to be grim to keep a reader interested....
