Description

Batman's Super Computer
Batman's Super Computer

The Batcave is Batman’s command center for his war against the criminal underworld of Gotham City. The batcave has a supercomputer in it which is arguably the most power computer in the DC Universe. It allows Batman global surveillance around the clock and also has information about all of Batman’s enemies and his allies. Batman is linked up to many satellites which belong to Wayne Enterprises. His batcave is also linked to Oracle which allows her to monitor the cave of any attempt in a break in. The cave is also large enough to contain full size facilities such as a crime lab, laboratories, gymnasium, a training facility to train with his allies, library, parking, docks, and a hanger for airplanes. There are also many different secret entrances and exits. There is also a museum for all the incarnations of his Batmobile and other vehicles. There is also a subway rocket inside the Batcave when it was used for Jean Paul Valley subbing for Batman. It takes Batman straight to Gotham quickly in an electronically clear path. The cave is also built to almost be earthquake proof, he also has a bomb shelter and a panic room in case of a nuclear disaster.

There are three items that are in every incarnation of the Batcave. It includes a full size Tyrannosaurus Rex in which Batman gained when he was on an adventure in Dinosaur Land. The giant size U.S. Penny was taken as a trophy when he defeated a Penny obsessed villain, and a giant size Joker card. Another item that was recently added was Jason Todd’s Robin costume that he put on display after his death in the story arc entitled “Death in the Family.” Another costume on permanent display is Barbara’s Batgirl costume after she was forcibly retired by the Joker.

Batman uses the Batcave to fight against the criminal underworld, and uses it to store all the equipment he needs for his war. Eventually the cave would expand from being a storage facility to a stronghold against the criminals of Gotham. The Batcave has become somewhat for Batman like how the Fortress of Solitude for Superman. One of the most used entrances is behind a grandfather clock, in which he turns the dials to 10:47, which was the time of his parents murder, and it would open the door.

*There are also other Bat Caves in other locations aside form the one under the manor.

*Central Batcave: Located fifty feet below the bottom of Robinson Park Reservoir, it is accessible through a secret entrance at the foot of one of the Twelve Caesars statues at the north of the park. This safehouse was put out of commission by Poison Ivy, her "Feraks", and Clayface.

*Batcave South: A broiler room of a derelict shipping yard on the docks across from Paris Island. This safehouse is accessible through a number of false manholes planted throughout Old Gotham streets.

*Batcave South-Central: Located in the Old Gotham prototype subway station, a four-block stretch of track sealed in 1896 and forgotten.

*Northwest Batcave: This safehouse is located in the subbasement of Arkham Asylum. Batman secretly stocked it with emergency rations, all-terrain vehicles, and battery-powered communication equipment.

*Batcave East: An abandoned oil refinery owned by Wayne Enterprises. It fell out of use during a gasoline crisis when the company moved all its holdings offshore decades ago.

*Los Angeles Bat Cave Used by the Outsiders when Baman rejoined the group as the headquarters.

Another was introduced in 2002's Fugitive story arc, this time in the form of an abandoned submarine. Batgirl was also given a cave under a house owned by Bruce Wayne when her identity was compromised and she couldn't go out unless she was in her Batgirl costume.
