The Poet's Flash Review Project

Posted by The Poet (8291 posts) - - Show Bio

Though I've been doing this project unofficially for a few months now, I thought I would announce it and make it official. Most of you know how Razza Tazz reviewed all of Wonder Woman. Well, I'm going try to do something similar.

I'm going to review all of Flash (mostly volumes 1 and 2 of The Flash). I don't have justice league on my radar just yet as those are harder to acquire, but maybe...of course i think I have enough with 264 issues in the first Volume of The Flash and 250 issues from Volume 2 of The Flash. I would like to point out that I am not doing this to get more popularity or to become the biggest Flash Fan on the site. I'm doing it because the characters deserve some reviews and I don't see anyone reviewing them, so I'll take up that responsibility. Plus, I get to know more about the Flash (that is a lot to go from zip to some thing...) and I get to review something!

I have a list called the Flash Review Project which I will use to show my status and show what i have reviewed. well, thanks for listening! hope you guys find my reviews entertaining and informative...I'm not doing this to prove anything. Just to honor the characters! enjoy!

Also check out other lists from this review project including:

Flash Review Project (Total comics reviewed: 20)

These are comics I have reviewed of The Flash's appearances. Check out my reviews!

The Flash (Volume 1: 1959-1985)

  • Progress: 16/246
  • Latest Issue Reviewed: The Flash #116 (Flash meets an alternate reality villain (2nd time used concept) and Wally West saves his "girlfriend". We also meet Rudolph West, Wally's father, for the first time.)

Flashpoint (Elseworlds Miniseries: 1999-2000)

  • Progress: 3/3

Other

  • JLA #102 (Wally West faces death. Great message!)

To see how I am progressing and to see the individual issues I have reviewed, check out my list Flash Review Project!

Good luck. I'm also going to read the whole second volume of the Flash soon.

@The Poet:

How many are you going to read in a day?

@Billy Batson: don't know. I've been doing one review a week, but I think I'll try to review more of the issues now that I have made this project official...

of course for some I have to write a discription for the issues as most don't have anything at all...

Just letting you know that I've edited every issue (or at least most of the issues) of the 2nd volume that didn't have a description so you don't have to do them.

@Billy Batson: thats good. of course at this point I can barely look ahead 15 issues let alone to the next series...so If I still like Flash after 246 issues then I might actully think about that second volume, but it all depends...

Flash is pretty awesome, so I guess that you most likely will read all of it. Maybe after a pause, but you will still, most possibly read them all.

I know it, and I have only read a few stories from him.

By the way, will you review the ones that already haven`t been reviewed? Because if you will, you don`t have to review that much. But, maybe you want to.

Well just looking at Volume 1 (I can't look at volume 2 just yet until I finish reading 1), but I really haven't seen ANYONE reviewing ANY of that volume. there might be some reviews at the very end of the volume, but I haven't seen any reviews in the issues I have looked at on this site. Thats why I'm doing this project. There is just a lack of any reviews for this character! there are 246 issues in that first volume and I haven't seen a soul review it (correct me if I'm wrong of course). Even barry Allen't 1st appearence lacked a review and that is just sad...

So I'm going to honor these characters by reviewing them and maybe draw attention to these early appearences of these cool characters :)

@The Poet: Thats good, are planning on doing them all in sequence?

@RazzaTazz: at least till I get to know some of the characters. It seems like a good idea that I know where characters like Elongated Man came to understand where they are going.

I do plan however to review other Flash-oriented series including Flashpoint (the first one that is. the second larger one seems is so over reviewed I shan't dabble with it. Hmm...Downton Abby adds something to your vocabulary it seems), the tangent Flash and other Flash series. Should be interesting whatever happens...

@The Poet: Oh understood, its not how i went about WW, but then again I could only read maybe two of the 1940s issues at once without needing a break

@RazzaTazz: fortunately these are silver age comics, so they are a little easier to read (though I won't review the Flash #1 of Jay Garrick that I found on Comixology until I'm ready...)

@The Poet: Awesome. I'd do the same for Nightwing, but I'm not really a good reviewer.

No, its not. I gave that book a good rating. I generally have a rule, Team books get two issues before I can make a decision, because it takes time to build a team and it sometimes it isn't done all that well, but that book was horrible. I should quit the site for giving it a good score.
