Obama did the hard and thankless job of stopping the economy from collapsing. This was bound to take time, time during which things would inevitably get worse before they got better. Now, 4 years later, things are slowly getting better. If Obama didnt get re-elected, Romney would no doubt end up getting the credit for a better economy. I'm very happy that Obama now gets 4 more years to finish the job he started.

And, I'm also happy that I might never see Mitt Romney ever again. Not just that, but that morons like Limbaugh and Gingrich have proven themselves to be clueless windbags.

I'm happy I went out and voted today. I came to the U.S. as a political refugee from a communist country. I'm proud of my adopted country.

I won't say how devastated I am, because I know people will laugh at me like they did to Carrie White in the Stephen King book.

Whether you know it or not, Obama being re-elected will be good for all of us, including you. I guarantee you in 4 years things will be much better as the economic recovery has more time to grow.

People dont seem to understand just how bad things were in 2008 and 2009. The stimulus policies Obama implemented, which BTW were also supported by Republicans at the time, helped a lot. In the next years we'll see more fruits from this.

Ok, I understand. I dont ever have any hard feelings against people that disagree with me. Yes we may disagree on the facts and opinions of the matter, but I'm just trying to discuss this stuff so that we all benefit from it. I'm happy to look at what you post and look at your data, and I hope you do the same for me. Yes, sometimes it gets a little heated... but it's not personal. We could be friends and still disagree on politics.

I see it from a 20 year old female college student from immigrant parents. In reality I hate hate HATE politics with all my heart, but it has impeded my very right to think the way I do. It's seeped into my science (I shudder to think what the science community will do when they find out I'm Catholic), the way I try to handle my school and home etc.

I'm essentially a Libertarian with hardcore conservative streaks.

And My. Payton, 3/4 of my friends are liberals and 3/4 of my family on both sides are Communist/Socialists. I think only my immediate family is Republican.

So, yeah, I have to fight in politics. I hate having to do that in a comicbook forum for Christ's sake, but what're you gonna do about it. :/

Nobody is going to be tarring and feathering you. The moderators are far more active and liberal with their abilities during times of heated contention that tend to manifest on this site. Anyone speaking in an insulting manner will be warned harshly, or just outright banned.

I'm real glad this campaign season is over. I'm not going to lie either I'm glad Obama won. Now I just hope we as Americans can move forward and stop being petty to one another. I also hope that Congress can start moving forward and get us to a better place 4 years from now. I know if we stop tearing each other apart and spitting on each other's beliefs we can achieve amazing things not only as a country but as a group of people. I'm excited for the future and I hope we grow from this and not act like children anymore.
