    Synopsis

Baltimore, a vampire killing professional, is going through France trying to find the leader of the vamps. He, begrudgingly, enlists the help of a local to help track down a trail of the vampire horde and heads off to locate the group.

    The Good

I don't think this has to be said, but the Artwork. Can we expect any different? Art is great in almost anything Mignola is involved with. I'm beginning to think Dark Horse makes careful selection of their artists. I have yet to be let down with almost any Dark Horse title I've read.

The storyline is also very good and engrossing. Who wouldn't like seein'/readin' a vampire hunter killin' Nazi vampires? I would like to see what happens after this issue and will be sticking with this mini-series till the end.

    The Bad

While reading this I hate to be judging this book the same as all the other vampire related stories in the comics ... errr....the entertainment industry. I'm starting to get vampired out but this is a welcomed addition to the genre. Along that same theme, I constantly peg (no pun intended) Baltimore as a Blade-esque character--well Blade with a peg-leg. Darn Dark Horse, I'm tempted to get these in trade which would mean me double-dippin'.

    Verdict

A higher than average storyline with awesome artwork earn this one a 4/5 stars rating. The only blemish is the vampire genre and Blade-esque character, so I'll take one point from the perfect score.

Vampires again. I know there`s so many vampire comics in the mix at the moment, that alot of people are getting fed up with them.  I`m not, I like vampires. Or should I say, I like the old-style creatures of the night, not all this teenage, romantic nonsense (shudders). No chance of that in Baltimore: The Plague Ships, these are most definitely `old-style`: red eyed and bestial-looking nosferatu. In fact the whole comic comes across in an atmospheric `old-style` - the art is very appropriate. Se...
