So the second series is somewhat similar to New Grappler Baki?! Well then if that's true, then it makes my Lupin The Third joke make even more sense since the second Lupin series is the most famous. I believe Lupin has 3 series.

I sorry it seems I made a typo in a previous post. The Baki anime is based off of the first manga. Anything after the first manga hasn't been animated.

To my knowledge, I owned all the animated episodes made. There's roughly 50. My supplier informed me that the series was discontinued in Japan due to low ratings or something. Animation wise,  they go past the Maximum Tournament and gives you a look into the past of Yujiro Hanma when he fought in the Vietnam war. I read the manga's at www.onemanga.com, and I have to say, I am very pleased.

Oh yeah! BTG has the greatest intro of all time! I forgot to mention that.

And I hope BTG does well enough to be continued. I loved the show so much and still need to see what Katsumi's going to do after his first fight. That guy is funny as HELL!

That was the best fight in the series so far, with Yujiro going all out or unleashing his abilities against a worthy opponent. Yujiro holds back most of the time and still owns everyone. It was uber-gangsta. LOL.

Thank you!!! Now I can talk about the BEST ANIME FIGHT EVER!!! hehe I loved the part where Orochi's eyes where moving around like crazy. Also, does anyone know the name of the style Yujiro used to counter Doppo and knock him out for the first time. I loved how Yujiro just walked straight up to Doppo with that style. I got to learn how to fight like that one of these days. lol

No Yujiro Hanma's technique was given a name and a backstory and everything! lol Seriously, a style where you can stand still and take out a group that surrounds you is too cool to not exist.

No Yujiro Hanma's technique was given a name and a backstory and everything! lol Seriously, a style where you can stand still and take out a group that surrounds you is too cool to not exist."

Its called Udonde or something like that.

Yeah, but a lot of the styles in that show don't really exist. A lot of  he things that Yujiro and other characters do can't be real, especially that style he used. There's no real fighting style that allows you to stand still while taking out a group of enemies, or to be able to fight multiple enemies at once. If you stand still in a real fight against multiple attackers, they'll thrash you. LOL. I take Shotokan. I know this.

Uremi is a technique which allows the user to move in a straight line and fight their opponents without leaving the line. Maybe that is "Dawday's" real world counterpart.

So you can't Tornado Kick your way out of fight Shotokan kid?! lol But seriously, I think the show just does exaggerations of real life martial arts. I believe that Yujiro Hanma used a real style. It's just extremely rare. But of course that doesn't mean I believe stuff like this in the show:

    *earthquake starts*
Yujiro Hanma: I said QUIET!! *punches ground and stops earthquake*
Military friend says: Even Mother Nature bows down to the King.
lol Sure there's some crazy stuff but I still believe that that style Yujiro used is not just made up.

LOL. The Hurricane Kick isn't a Shotokan technique. It's an Ansatsuken technique (another fictional fighting style). But, maybe that technique is an exaggeration of the one Omega mentioned.

Muzila - It's "Uremi" - entering technique or entering mentality.  Mr. Ohshima would face a student and when they attacked, he would avoid them and go through them without leaving the line.  Mr. Ohshima said he discovered this capability by accident.  He was sparring with Mr. Honda (one of Mr. Ohshima's  top students in Japan) and saw a kick coming in and ducked under the leg and went behind him.  He then worked on and perfected this capability..  In SKA, one of the requirements for a brown belt is to display this mentality . This is tough since it's not the American mentality to go under and avoid. a kick that is coming straight at you.

Doppo's friend said it was a technique that warriors from India used to block arrows with both hands. He also said that it was like the mother technique or something to Karate (which is of course Doppo's style.

Ken doesn't take Shotokan. He studies Ansatsuken (Fist of Assassination), but it was a modified form the style that Gouken and Akuma studied. Capcom USA dubbed it as Shotokan (a misinterpretation) in Street Fighter II, even though it wasn't the same thing (just like they referred to Gouken as Sheng Long). It's the main reason why everyone refers to Ryu, Sean, Ken, and Akuma as 'shotos'. Everyone followed the misinterpretation. LOL.

Yeah. Sheng Long is a misinterpretation of Gouken, and Shotokan was a misinterpretation of Ansatsuken in the instruction manuals of the Super Nintendo version, due to a localization error. At the same time, those terms were never used in the Japanese versions of the games. However, that and the fighting style that all of the 'shotos' studied was cleared up during the Street Fighter Alpha series. But, Capcom USA and UDON comics still referred to Ryu and Ken's fighting style as Shotokan, even though that isn't what it is. You know anything that comes to America has to be different for some reason. Disappointing. LOL.
