    Giant spiders!!

I'm a big critic of Chris Yost, often thinking that he's one of those writers that never reach full potential or that, after showing a good start, fall back under pressure and can't deliver in the end, but if he can keep up the good quality he showed in this first issue, I'll definitely start picking up this series every month!! My biggest concern after ASM # 700 big event/conclusion was how writers would address the new Spider-Man personality, even though Peter Parker somehow is still there: would they try to do some comedy, even in a mild fashion, would Otto's persona imprint an agressive behavior, what will be Spider-Man's moto and flagship? Yost answered this for me in the most briliant way, showing that Spider-Man (new or superior) does have a sense of humor, less provocative or exagerated, but in a smart and intelligent way; also Spider-Man will use his intellect to solve problems and deal with suspicions. I really enjoyed the meeting between Spider-Man and the X-Men (Rachel, Beast, Logan, Storm, Kitty Pride and Ice Man), even though it's another bad example of Marvel's continuity, but that's not the case. Irrefutably one of the best things in this issue is Logan and Spider-Man "conversation", in a tone never seen before, also the inner thoughts of Spider-Man were excellent. Most dialogues were right on and Paco Medina didn't disapoint. This issue was fun, packed with action, clever and interesting writing, a very solid compact self contained story! Hope we get more of this!

WARNING: This Might Turn You Into A Doc Ock Fan 0

The Overview: It's Spider-Man teaming up with the X-Men as a giant spider terrorizes New York City and its inhabitants. This is the first first issue where we see Doc Ock interacting with other superheroes and Chris Yost plays it out beautifully. But for those opposed to what Dan Slott has done to Peter Parker, will they be on board after seeing this "superior" version of Spider-Man? Well.... you'd be surprised. The Good: For those who are willing to give this Ock/Spider-Man thing a chance, this ...

Wolverine brings out Spider-Man's superiority complex. 0

The GoodIn this issue Superior Spider-Man runs into the X-Men while trying to save New York from a giant mutant spider. This story does a great job of testing Doc Ock's boundaries as Spider-Man. What truly shines in this issue are the character interaction between Spider-Ock and the X-Men. It is interesting seeing people who know Peter become confused at his unnatural behavior, equally amusing is Octavius fumbling to sound in character. This book starts to truly set the tone for Superior Spider-...
