Thor, what does a obvious American yes man got that a norse god doesn't?
Avengers
Team » Avengers appears in 7703 issues.
The Avengers are Earth's mightiest heroes and foremost super-team... "There came a day, a day unlike any other, when Earth's mightiest heroes found themselves united against a common threat. On that day, the Avengers were born - to fight the foes no single super hero could withstand! Heed the call, then - for now, the Avengers Assemble!"
Who is cooler? Captain America or Thor?
Thor. there's just no challenge. Cap has his moments i guess... but more often than not... he's far too bland to be cool. or even remotely interesting.
Thor has said repeatedly that Captain America is the best of humanity and that he would always see him as his leader and superior.
So if Thor thinks Captain America is better than himself, I think we've got ourselves an answer.
I still love Thor immensely though...
Captain America is cooler.
- WWII veteran (led forces on extremely hazardous and unprecedented operations behind enemy lines in every theater of the war, as well as participating in several major battles)
- Has a "never say die" attitude and has beaten the odds time and time again
- Earned the respect of the entire superhero community
- Never gives up the fight for liberty, even if it means fighting his friends
- Has often lead the Avengers, including Thor (a literal god) into battle
- Knows that all notions of "cool" are noise; proudly wears the red, white and blue
Captain America by far. I always hate when people say Superman is the embodiment of all that's good and what humanity to inspire to be. I just want to punch them in the face. When I started reading Captain America last year, I felt he was worthy of that claim, and find him to be truly inspirational.

Cap isn't cool because he has the courtesy to say yes, but the courage to say no.

i think a god also may be inspirational?
Thor in the comics and Mythology may be a lot more inspirational than everybody at marvel, sacrifices were made to him, vikings prey to him in the sea and battle, marvel just have to write Thor more like he is described in the eddas.
@k_thor: I'm just referring to certain Superman interpretations that bug me, and comparing Cap, since they're similar characters. I'm not knocking Thor! :)

Ok, you are right i made a bad connection from your post to the topic, but i didn't mentioned Cap i also like him, but as European i love Thor and what he represents in comics and outside of them, i agree that the Kryptonian isn't humanity mighty inspiration and Wb/dc show some of that in Man of Steel... :)
@k_thor: I wasn't even thinking of Man of Steel, but you have a point. I was thinking most of the Reeve movies where he kills everyone on earth by spinning the planet, just to save one woman. All those people he saved previously, he murdered, letting the missiles kill them to save Lois. His father even told him it's wrong to meddle like that, but Superman turned back time anyway. That's what a Super Villain would do, not a hero! Not only that, but he's absolutely useless with powers, and only beats on people far weaker on him. The guy has every power imaginable, lives in a city where everyone loves him, yet he still has it so easy. He gets even more powers when the plot calls for it, he bends physics, and he doesn't even even need a real disguise (Everyone in his city has a cognitive facial recognition problem). When he can't beat Zod, he flies away, leaving Zod to kill everyone in Metropolis, but since it's Superman, everything goes easy for him, and Zod follows him, when he could have easily blasted the city, while chasing after him. Whenever Superman saved a person, Zod waited for him to do it. Why didn't he ever hit when Superman saves, people? I'll tell you why, because Superman only works when everyone is a complete moron around him. He gives up helping humanity for no good reason, just so he can feel normal living with Lois. What about heroes like Bruce Banner and the Thing, who have to suffer to live a normal life, not only dealing with their powers, but feel like a monster?
I'm going to stop ranting now, because I could go on, and on. What are some of your favorite Thor stories?
I used to like Thor more, but now I prefer Cap.
same
Thor all the way. Cap is good and if written well can be awesome and a great leader but lets face it nothing can compare to Thor for he has seen and done and has so much potential .
So yeah the real Thor all the way.
Thor by a mile, cap is too serious for me, I'd rather hang out with Thor for a day, drinking mead, and slaying beasts and women in two different kinda ways know what I'm saying.
Thor, Spider-Man has more moral purity, inspirational fortitude and self sacrificing vigor in his entire body than Cap does with his Frisbee. Captain America is Overrated, Spidey could easily take his place as the big good superhero of the Marvel Universe and become a bigger iconic image for superheroes to look up too if Marvel stopped making him a American shonen protagonist and a failure.
As for Thor, he's cooler because he acts like Viking plus King Arthur at the same time.
Cap.
