    Shields aren't alive, so they aren't mortal. 


    Or more accurately Captain America's shield is a fluke creation that can not be easily recreated, but is otherwise pretty 'godly' in and of itself. Thor in the comics has been able to easily break it and dent it, after having his power amplified by his fathers. He possibly could under his natural strength, but not easily. More than that a brief tussle isn't that big of a deal, it will probably be like the cartoon. Its not like Thor will trying to kill Steve either.

    Even if caps shield didnt break when thor hits it, steve would still be sent flying for miles from the power of the blow.

    Nope. Only time Thor ever dented Cap's shield was when he had the runes and the Odinforce, I believe.

    Thor beats cap, but he isn't breaking the shield.

    Thor sparring with Cap makes no sense. Let him spar with Hulk instead. And Cap can spar with Hawkeye, Black Widow or Tony Stark.
