Before The Avengers was released, many of us assumed it would be the Skrulls attacking Earth. Images from the cancelled Avengers movie game (which looked way better than Battle For Earth) showed the many types of skrulls. Would you like to see the skrulls in the MCU? I liked the because they were fodder to show off the Avengers abilities. They also looked amazing (although I didn't like how they all died Phantom-Menace style). In the end, was using the Chitauri the right move? I know Skrulls specifically had issues with the rights (due to associations with the Fantastic Four etc). What would've been better - Skrulls or Chitauri. - side note (I know the Chitauri are essentially the Ultimate Universe version of the 616 Skrulls, but Marvel executives are trying to push that they are different species entirely, what do you think of this?http://comicsalliance.com/canceled-avengers-game-concept-art-jeremy-love-skrulls/

Skrulls couldn't have been worse than the Chi'tauri. They sucked

Don't particularly care about it either way. I can understand why they went for the Chitauri - for one, copyright issues, and for another - they had free rein to design them however they wanted (the Chitauri in the comics mostly appeared in human form). Green alien-ish men might've been a little too on-the-nose, so I guess they went for a different approach.

The Chitauri worked with the plot of the film as generic alien invaders. A film with Skrulls would have to be a little more creative, exploring the shapeshifting. The rights aren't a problem, as Marvel and Fox have a joint ownership thing going.

Skrulls is way too much info and back story needed. Chitauri kept the plot moving and served their purpose.

I am actually glad they went with the Chitauri. I have no idea why though.
