So, we have a new-ish roster for the Avengers, starting in issue 24.NOW, the most notable difference being the omission of both Spider-Man and Wolverine. Spider-Man's been on probation for his superior antics, so I guess whatever happens in the final chapter of Darkest Hours finally gets him booted from the team. As for Wolverine, I guess he's just too busy, what with his lost healing factor and running the Jean Grey School. Unfortunately, both Ex Nihilo and Abyss are also both absent from the roster, but that's just because they're out there in the Universe with all the other Ex Nihili. I'm sure they'll be back soon enough.

I guess we're not getting an explanation for why the first chart was laid out in such a way then.

So with this 18, it seems that there's room for 2 more women or minorities, and 4 more white men. Anyone got any thoughts on who they'll be?

Pretty annoying that the team won't even be a third female, unless some more members leave that is.

I wish the roster was smaller, only because when it's this big character development is hard to do w/o ignoring others for many issues.

Spider-Man and Wolverine weren't doing much on Hickman's Avengers books anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised if they just say he's been acting like a jerk because he had the symbiote this whole time or something like that if they really want to keep him on the team. That being said I'd be thrilled if they left the team/got kicked off.

@green_skaar: I'm pretty sure that's what Avenger's World is for. Kind of sad that they had to launch a completely new title to get some development for the lesser used and known characters.

This team is too big

the roster to me is fair. there's a few who look out of place being on THE avengers team, but otherwise the roster is good. I really liked the comedy in 24.now with Thor.

I wonder if we'll get those two big unknowns in the Avengers roster.
I wonder if it'll be Fantastic Four, Future Foundation, Wolverine's X-Men, etc..

I like the bigger roster, earths mightiest heroes as a team of 6ish never really made sense to me

There really shouldnt be more than 5 or 6 avengers at a time. 24 is way too much.

Personally I prefer a more classic roster, something along the lines of what they had in Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes with the addition of Spider-Man and Black Widow.
