Marvel announced another Avengers related comic book, Avengers World!

Is it really necessary?

The regular Avengers title will cease to double ship after Infinity. So this book will take the other slot. It will be just like having Avengers double ship except they are able to have 2 different artists now and not have to produce the books too far in advance in order to get them to stay on schedule. I think it is a good idea.

I'll be interested to see how the two play off of each other. See if they will go together and have part of the team doing something in Avengers while the other members are operating in Avengers World. Or if it will be in a varying shade of the present and have the whole team operating in both books. I'll be happy either way as long as it is a good story.

Marvel needs more solo books :l

You ever wonder where we'll be in twenty to fifty years in these comics? I mean, it seems like the Marvel Universe is becoming smaller: Lots more crossovers, people playing around in each other's comics, cross events happening regularly, and so on. Not to mention now this 'Avengers World' initiative. In twenty to fifty years, our time, where will the Marvel Universe be?

Marvel doesn't realize this but they are slowly pushing me away. I may not be able to live in the Marvel Universe one day. However, they do have Spider-Man, X-Men, and others I feel I cannot leave... XP

Honestly, I love the idea. The Avengers roster is so large, it gives little room for character development. Adding a second title about this team lets us see more of the characters that aren't Captain America

People are interested in the Avengers and the X-men, that's why they have Multiple books going. It's because they sell.

If Marvel thought it could make one damn cent on an Alpha Flight book then we would have three.
