Avengers Movie Rumers....

I got this from a reliable source, but even he questions the veracity of this story.... But here you go anyway:

Matthew McConaughey is rumored to be the front runner for Marvel's early

2011 superhero project "The First Avenger: Captain America" reports _Cinema

Blend_

The character's real name is Steve Rogers, a sickly young man who was

enhanced to the peak of human perfection by an experimental serum in order to aid

the United States war effort during the Second World War.

The character remains one of the few of Marvel's most popular characters yet

to have been turned into a feature film. In many ways it still faces much

difficulty due to the nature of the uber-patriotic character in a modern world

which has become more critical of American imperialism than before.

The solution seems to be repositioning the character and placing the

emphasis on his role as the leader of 'The Avengers'. The character will team up

with Iron Man, Hulk and Thor in that film opening a few weeks later in July

I think he means rum & coke. As for the Avengers movie, why not? The only problem with team films is that it can take up to one third to introduce the characters and their powers.

You have a point, but I think we all know enough about Thor, Iron Man, The Hulk, and Cap that we wouldn't need to spend much time introducing them.

We may know who they are because we are comicbook fans but the general audience may not know who they are. When comes to taking comicbook characters to the big screen, the story has to be written to please not only comicbook fans but also the general audience otherwise the production company will not make up the money need to cover the cost of making the film.

Dangit, here's this thread again.  Keeps making me want a rum and coke.  I have some rum in the house but now there's no coke.
