With only 4 unaired-in-Australia episodes to go you might be wondering "man, when are they going to get to Asgard to kick Surtur's ass"?

The answer is they won't.

An ongoing sub-plot in the first half of the season was based on Walt Simonson's classic Surtur story from Thor and we were introduced to Beta Ray Bill and saw the Enchantress become Surtur's thrall. Thor was sidelined at the start of the season to build up this plot and whole episodes were spent setting us up for a big almighty showdown with Surtur presumably to happen later in the season. But the twist is we won't ever see this showdown. The plots for the final episodes do not involve Surtur or Asgard. In fact, they're taking us to Hala for a showdown with the Kree and Galactus. The unresolved Surtur story is obviously a victim of Loeb's insane "it all must be stand-alone episodes" wish despite him hypocritically having been behind a 3-part winter soldier/rulk saga and the upcoming kree story also being a 3-parter. Toppled with the cancellation of the show this only means that we will never have this story ever resolved despite all the heavy set up.

dang, that is jacked up. its like marvel has a meeting and whatever cartoon is doing good that is the one they stop. They must also in that meeting come up with the next super arc cross over event of the year. Man Marvel good thing your movies don't suck.

As the horrific fire beast lunged forward, escape for the avengers seemed hopeless, when suddenly the animator suffered a fatal heart attack. The fiery peril was no more.

Am I the only one excited to see the Avengers take on Galactus? I understand people are upset about the whole Surtur storyline never being finished, but come on, they're facing freakin' Galactus!!! :D

Pretty sure they'll hit on it in the future. The "Cancellation" was faked.

maybe but there's no way that Marvel will have 2 Avengers shows on the air at the same time

isnt this whole series cancelled or over with the idea of doing a different Avengers cartoon closer to the movie?

First Spectacular Spider-Man now Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Why are Marvel cancelling all the good shows and replacing them with rubbish ones? I say Marvel when I mean that this is the result of Loeb's stupidity. It's just desserts that Loeb had to take down his Facebook page or something due to all the negative comments from fans on cancelling Avengers: EMH.
