there's not much X-Men or even Avengers in this book 5

AF Reviews: AvengersThis time we're onto the 3rd issue of Avengers vs. X-Men which means more running around like headless chickens and accomplishing nothing in an entire issue except seeing how much out of his depth John Romita Jr. can be in providing the art chores.Ed Brubaker writes this time around. Although, this time around I couldn't really tell. I suppose it's a credit to Brubaker and Aaron that their styles flow together quite well. As the writer for Captain America books, you'd anticip...

    Getting Better 0

Now that the dumb fighting on the beach is over, the event series seems to be finding its legs. I don't exactly see how Avengers Academy fits into the timeline. It goes between issue 2 and this one, but it seems as if they go straight from Utopia to Wolverine's confrontation. At least there's starting to be some intrigue. Let's just say that Schism wasn't quite as cut and dry as it was originally made out to be and some people may still have loyalties on the other side. Perhaps this won't end up ...

The True Star is Revealed 0

So there are how many tie-ins and a companion series featuring "just battles," but no one thought "huh... maybe we should show this fight between Magik and Doctor Strange?" The one fight that so far has had some kind of implication in the story, and it is left out? Issue #3 was a nightmare. Please check my mini-review here:http://bit.ly/Kj6p0mComments and feedback are always welcome!...

Comic Review -- Avengers vs. X-Men #3 / Ed Brubaker, John Romita, 0

Originally posted on my blog, The Comics Cove, not too long ago...I really like the cover of this issue. It's intense, personal, and vicious as Cap and Wolverine struggle for dominance. Costumes are torn, sweat and what appears to be blood are flying, and both men are determined to beat the other. The artwork itself is wonderful, and it really sells the idea that this issue will contain some violence.Wolverine recovers from his ordeal with Hope and is told that Cyclops and the X-Men have surrend...

Did Everyone Take Stupid Pills or Something? 0

Okay, right after the decent last issue A vs X has decided to take another dip into the insane and illogical. In this issue we see the aftermath of the Battle at Utopia. Scott Summers still believes that the Pheonix will save mutant kind. The X-men escape from the Avengers to begin searching for Hope. Captain America who had attempted to keep the mutants prisoner refuses to listen to some really sound reason given by Tony, and then shortly afterwards turns on Logan believing him to be a liabilit...

    Wolverine Vs Cap. 0

Review:We finally got through the dumb fight between the Avengers and X-Men, the mutants decides to surrender but then tricks the Avengers by teleporting away at different locations and try to find Hope as does the Avengers. Thus more pointless fight continues. I sort of knew that Captain America and Wolverine were going to fight and even though it was out of character for Cap' to act like that, I still liked the build up to that fight and when Logan gets kicked off the plane. The fight itself w...
