i just picked this up in back issue after wishing i had off and on - as a big fan of what the recruits have been doing in AI. this couldve passed for a few issues on the proper title, but there may have been restraints with tie-ins and what not. i wont venture to guess why Reptil required his own tale, but maybe thats why it wouldnt mesh well in the series. the story starts fresh and wraps up with alotta room to introduce the character in wider contexts.. but the only thing missing is a better origin of his power. its nice to know its not contagious of course. although maybe if portions of the kid were consumed by a ravenous foe ...eh. the art shares some proper style, same as issue #13 of the series (if im not mistaken) and its a little lacking in emotion, facially. it strikes a warm narrative though. i dont quite see where this characters could be headed right now. and i woulda loved a one-shot about a side character already present in the series. but we could do worse than a kid with enhanced abilites (all but mastered already) and a simple/effective back story. hope they hook him up with some pym particles too! assuming he ever gets some more face time. if read like this is his only appearance, the all-inclusive story is really quite cozy.
