Avengers: The Children's Crusade #3

The search continues (and ends) for the Scarlet Witch as the Young Avengers team up with Magneto and Quicksilver in a quaint little family reunion.
 

The Good

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: It is great to see Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung working together again on a Young Avengers book. These two guys brought us the original Young Avengers mini-series a few years back, and since then, every Young Avengers title has been lack luster because these two guys weren't a part of it. This issue is a lot of "what do we do next?" and "who are the key players?" But it's written incredibly well and the art is beautiful, and it's in the style that the original mini-series is, so I have no huge complaints. I'm interested to see how Wanda got to the point where she is, when you see her towards the end of the issue, and how the team plans on getting her out of the clutches of Dr Doom. (It's not a spoiler, he's on the cover) After a few moments of Wiccan and Wanda together, I realized I wouldn't mind them have a four to six issue mini-series together. I enjoy both of these character immensely.
 

The Bad

There's a lot of "who can we trust" conversations in this issue. It happens on three separate occasions with three different people in question. When it comes down to it, you don't trust Magneto and you don't trust Quicksilver. Stop questioning it.
 

The Verdict 4/5 Recommended!

Solid book and a great follow-up to the original series by Heinberg and Cheung. This is not a great jumping on point if you've never read the Young Avengers before, but I highly recommend picking up the original 12 issue series. For Young Avengers fans, this is a fun series so far and a must have.
