They all appear to be mutatants except for Reptil. Since their powers manfested in the same way most mutants do.
Ok... But if there mutants then how come on Hazmat and Veil's page it says Human ? On Mettle's it says Radiation ?
Not sure, I don't think they explained how they get their powers.
Hazmat aka Jenny Takeda was a normal girl with a normal family, normal friends, and a normal life in California. That all changed the day her boyfriend wound up comatose after kissing her. Tests at the hospital confirmed that she was the cause of his coma, and it was then that Norman Osborn, kidnapped her and jump-started her powers against her will. After returning home, her family was exposed to her for so long that they began to fall ill. Even her dog died after prologed exposure and contact with her. Then, thankfully, Hank Pym stepped in and invited her to the Avengers Academy, promising to work on a way to cure her condition, or at least help her regain control of it somehow... Mettle aka Ken Mack used to be an ordinary Hawaiian boy. He first discovered his powers when a surfboard hit him in the head, scraping away a piece of skin to reveal the red armor underneath. He went to Osborn for help with his new condition. Osborn's treatment doesn't reverse his state, but let's Mettle get rid of his old skin... Veil aka Madeline Berry. Before the Avengers Academy, Maddy Berry was an average teenage high school student until one day she discovered her gaseous state. Maddy was deceived into trusting that Norman Osborn could help her. She was tortured until Osborn was taken down and then enrolled in the Avengers Academy due to the fact that her molecules were disappearing and she was feared to turn evil after her torture.
