    Teach Your Children

    Finesse faces off against Taskmaster.

The Good: There's just something about this title that really drew me into issue #1. I still think that Gage has done a terrific job on each issue, but it hasn't been feeling as great as the first issue felt. However, this issue really shines in parts. Pietro has always been an interesting character for me, and I am so happy that he is included in this title. I was so excited once the Brotherhood of Evil, and Finesse's discovery, was mentioned, but since then it hasn't been brought up. I've been waiting for the time to come that we get to see some Finesse/Pietro story time once again. Then, we get Taskmaster. Yes! The scenes with Taskmaster and Finesse were my favorite part of the issue and it was really well done, in my opinion.

The Bad: Like I mentioned in my review for Avengers Academy #8, it was too obvious that the Academy students wouldn't get expelled.
Aside from a few hiccups with the art on facial expressions, I can't complain much. However, there was a panel, when Pietro was talking to Tigra, where he was giving her a pretty long talk, and while it shows the speach coming from him, he's smiling while Tigra is, what looks to be, yelling at him. I just thought that was kind of off since she didn't have any lines of dialogue in that panel.

I think Finesse has become my favorite of the book. This book has been pretty solid from issue one. I think that it really is being overlooked and should definitely be given a try. Pick this is up. Plus, I do believe that this might be Taskmaster's first appearance since the end of Siege, aside from his own Mini that just went on. So yeah, he's always entertaining, to say the last.

Gage is constantly surprising me with his excellent, incomparable and superior dialogues, the way he extracts the essence of each character and boils them down making the sum of them an amazing and intricated plot is spectacular. This was perhaps the best issue of Avengers Academy, because it´s a balance display of amazing dialogues, excellent aproach of mature themes (like is it ethical getting revenger or enjoying beating up a bad guy), great action (the battle between Taskmaster and Finesse i...
