Oh right she left, I forgot because that was important.

This is the end of the Hybrid arc and it feels very disappointing.

Part of this issue takes place in the future with Reptil's younger brain in his adult body with all of the adult version's of his friends and I just cannot find myself to care at all because here's the thing. When you do alternate futures or parallel universe's it has to be different enough for it to be strange for the character who is in it and it must come from a logical place, like with X-Factor #231 at the end of House of M Wanda said "No More Humans" so now there aren't many left and it makes sense why Tony would be doing the things he's doing there. But here Gage does nothing, we are in the future with Reptil and I get the sense that things are dangerous and they are doing things for a reasons but we aren't given anything to go upon, did the events of Fear Itself, Avengers vs X-Men, Chaos War or any other Marvel event screw things up ? I have no idea and we aren't even given a single hint as to what might have happened, also we get a solid confirmation that Taskmaster is in fact Finesse's dad but I would have liked to have found that out at the same time as her because this just feels cheap underdeveloped. Just like so many other things with this series.

Back in the present the school is fighting one alien who is also controlling a bunch of the students but they are easily broken from that control, apparently you just gotta knock em out, because that doesn't make your villain seem weak. Also the one knock out I feel annoyed by is that Hazmat knocks out X-23 with a radiation blast and when Mettle asks is she knew Laura would survive she says yes and she would have done it anyway, because she felt that Laura might steal her boyfriend away from her, I find this laughable and this doesn't make me like Hazmat anymore. But a positive I will say is that Gage does know his Spaceknights history but that's more of a general statement of he researche's very well.

So the alien is killed by Jocasta reprogramming the Sentinel's blaster to shoot the alien with his weakness and she was helped by Veil, who after I read the issue completely forgot she left the team becaus as much as I enjoyed issue #20 it was not memorable. Im not going to say this comes out of nowhere because next issue explains everything but it does feel like it.So the alien is killed by Jocasta reprogramming the Sentinel's blaster to shoot the alien with his weakness and she was helped by Veil, who after I read the issue completely forgot she left the team becaus as much as I enjoyed issue #20 it was not memorable. Verdict: Just another very painfully average issue out of this series and each time I see that ad for AA #27-28 I am dreading it even more
